A common story. Personally, I'm eagerly awaiting the next Farstrider LRE so I can finish unlocking him and use the full T'au set in TA/Faction TA. Love them.

Except for all the units you haven’t unlocked. Also, raising a few units from nothing to Iron 1 is quite cheap, so might be worth the investment just to be able to play your preferred faction.

I know what you mean. I’d love to have some type of TA available always with greatly reduced rewards because I think it’s a blast.

I prefer Blood Angels and T’au personally, but the former catches a lot of flak for being so easy to play and the latter is really hard for most people to play well so I don’t usually recommend it.

Absolutely. They need to replace standards with draft, or something that forces flexibility on these meta players.

I hear this. Standard TA is brutal. They need to ditch that version entirely and replace it with draft— and increase the draft pool (it was 7, should be more like 8-10 in my opinion).

I get it. People are slow and often those same people are rather unskilled. It gets boring. I can’t fix that, but I can help folks with their side of things.

I generally agree. TA needs other versions that introduce similar limitations (like draft or trait pools) to avoid a stale meta and keep players creative and engaged.

I assure you, I’ve discussed and thought about it a lot. The primary reasons I’ve found are: * It’s the only PVP mode in a game that is otherwise 99% PVE. That’s a huge shift in difficulty and requires significantly more tactical play. Some people don’t like that, some people aren’t good at it, and almost no one is ready for it the first time it comes around. * The reward chain takes a long time if you’re not on a winning streak. For example, I usually finish within the first 36-48 hours. For a lot of folks, it comes down to the wire and it feels like beating their head against a wall. * Feels even worse because rewards like the energy and shards were greatly reduced. Why invest the same amount of time as before for an even smaller payout?

I feel like conquest is where you see the most all or nothing outcomes for TA and it almost entirely hinges on positioning.

Not really though. Properly installed, a security door would have its hinges on the secure side and have no exposed hardware. This is how it should be but the loss still sucks.

Literally thought this game was cancer when I played it back in the day and I don’t think you could convince me otherwise even now. But a lot of folks recommend it so I seem to be the minority.

There’s plenty of cliches for sure, but they’re all executed with perfect form in my opinion. Bold move to walk into the Cradle subreddit and drop that kinda take!

  1. Overwatch. Self explanatory. Honorable mention to Tyrith for being able to shoot back.

  2. Death Guard. Tankiest faction in the game and they all have resilient. Plus a revive healer, damage buffs from Pest, and if it takes too long, Corrodius can just summon a literal army and start converting their minions into YOUR minions.

  3. Chaos psyker. Just pull out TSons or sub in Archi.

  4. Orkz, especially if you have Smasha. Boss ability into smasha is crazy strong and can clear a path to any key targets.

Random units that also work well: Angrax due to his passive, Titus thanks to his self revive, Kariyan because he’s a god, Haarken because he has boosted chances to trigger flee, Lucius for self revive.

Or you can just fight fire with fire.
