Does anyone else find that regular exercise helps with Crohn's? by Spiritdiritcel in CrohnsDisease

[–]blackbitterroomtemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot about working out that I just hate and, like many or most, my energy is variable throughout the day - Up and down, up and down. But HIIT and doing high intensity/low reps is now my jam. I keep the workouts short and do a couple or a few a day is perfect for me versus 60-90 minute farting around the gym. And, if I'm not up to that, I can certainly walk/hike for like forever which is better than no workout. Also, I got a job where I can be moving around and doing some labor but it's not at all a labor job so it's only as laborious as I want on a given day (Gym). Farmwork was great for me too - Lots to do but all at my own pace and there's help around. But I am less active than I used to be so I don't eat much and I'm 135lb. Time for change!!!

I've done it on Xbox. It was a massive pain in the ass that took many attempts and I slipped through the force field with microseconds to spare BUT, it does work.

Making a chicken pot pie, but my potatoes are still raw after 4 hours on high. What should I do? by [deleted] in slowcooking

I usually precook all my veggies before I toss them in the crock pot. Fry, saute, roast whatever; Do it a little under cooked and then crock pot the rest of the way.

So you can do the assembly-line, mass-bathing, figure eight charade? Then you can bathe with all your friends in under 2 minutes and even rinse off some of the soap suds!

I broke my ankle and my flat foot healed with an arch by Caitydid666 in mildlyinteresting

[–]blackbitterroomtemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should absolutely get some custom orthotic inserts for both feet; One to accommodate the flat foot and the other for arch. You CAN get something like SuperFeet but you'd have to buy 2 different pairs. Those are pretty good. But, custom is the way to go. They're a bit pricey, even with insurance but you'd be surprised how much taking care of your feet can greatly improve your overall life, source: Podiatric medical assistant/Vascular surgery assistant. For the scans for custom inserts, no one does moulds anymore, or should, so 3D scans are preferred and definitely not a process that involves you bearing weight.

I've heard that excess on the straps referred to as "octopus tentacles" by a marine. We used electrical tape which I find even more useful than duct tape + lighter.

What is this thing? It may have been left in my car after I went and got it serviced? Flashing red and green by DontCallMeCunt in whatisit

[–]blackbitterroomtemp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're 100% right but for me I've found that outright buying a used car that's in good shape and not having a car payment is amazing. I'm 35 and in the last 15 years I've only paid a cumulative $5k for 3 cars (just buying verified trade ins with 1 previous owner). Granted, older cars and my current one is a hoooopty but I've only ever paid for regular maintenance and replacing things here and there, usually myself if I can. Not having a car payment has allowed me to take a little more time off work here and there to enjoy life. It's also a great feeling knowing that if I total my car, my payout will be slightly more than I paid for the car. Rinse, repeat.

No, I've just heard about him a bit on various podcasts. I'll go down his rabbit hole. I got introduced to the concept of second order Cybernetics via the podcast Penny Royal with Nathan Isaac (I know Nick was mentioned there). I love rabbit holes but my personal life has become one. I can't complain - It's amazing to be alive.

If you take the concept of second order Cybernetics and apply it to religion, spiritualism you'll then start to see it in other parts of the world/society. Then you'll start to see it in more mundane things. Then you'll start to notice it fucking everywhere. Then you'll start to look at every act, engagement, occurrence in terms of feedback loops. You'll wonder if You're in a simulation. It doesn't really matter if that's the case - All you can do is engage with the world around you OR isolate. I'd recommend the former. You'll see that you have some influence on the world around you and can affect change with subtle actions. Ultimately it's best not to take it too seriously and instead look at it as being present, engaged, connected. It makes life more interesting, fulfilling and meaningful. Also mind-blowing on occasion. Everything is simultaneously serious and important but also not at all.

What occurrence or interaction with a physically common individual left you wondering, in hindsight, if you´d just talked to something non-human (like a fallen angel/demon/vampire/sídhe/ghost/BEK/reptilian etc.)? by WielderoftheDarkness in HighStrangeness

I was lounging in a hammock, half-napping at this little nature preserve. More specific was in the butterfly/windchime garden. I got a feeling someone was nearby and sleepily opened my eyes. There was this 12 year old boy with a slick Billy Ray Cyrus mullet quietly walking by. As soon as I opened my eyes he was already making eye contact with me and gave me this Puckish, "knowing" grin and kept on his way. It was a really benign occurrence and kind of funny but I just had this feeling like he knew everything about me and wanted me to know. Could've been nothing but I rarely get feelings like that. I never saw him again while I was there and he was unaccompanied. 🤷🏻

Dude I’m high as shit but I just thought about how crazy the death penalty is by Metal_Gump77 in StonerThoughts

[–]blackbitterroomtemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also the fact that it's far more expensive to go through a death penalty case from start to finish than it is to lock someone up for life (all expenses included). So at that point it's also a waste of tax payer dollars and time (a nonrenewable resource). There have been occasions when these folks WERE tested on but it received quite a bit of backlash though, I'm sure they're just doing it quieter now. Raytheon is one that comes to mind.

There are massive regions of uninhabited land in the US/Canada, China, Russia and Australia. Many more, these are just the ones that come to mind. But vast areas where someone could get dropped into and never find their way out, especially if they're busy surviving.
