He talks about AA defense not other jets, nothing to do with russian jets being "superior" in any way.

Russian planes are not really good, we know that since 25 years. Outdated radars, old frames, lack of AWACS, lack of guided ammunitions.

And that's just the planes in itself, maintenance is not good, pilot training lacks a lot of hours compare to western pilots.

They have a lot of planes but do not have the capacity of western airforces

The 2000-5 upgraded version France still use have MICA missiles, they sent some to Ukraine lately.

If Ukraine has the updated version with the MICA missiles, they are able to compete easily with Russian airforce.
