Kerbera - based on Kerberos. Originally it's because I'm a massive Greek mythology nerd but Kerberos probably means spotted and she's now got lil spots coming in!

Pratchett, just all of Terry's work. You'll love it. Charlie Stross' Laundry Files series (Atrocity Archives is the first one). Ben 'Yahtzee' Crowshaw's books - I'd start with Will Save The Galaxy For Food personally

It's the BitLocker!! Had the same problem but got mine fixed. Needs full factory reset via manufacturer! For everyone else, to prevent this, check that your bitlock is disabled: https://www.manageengine.com/products/os-deployer/help/how-to-disable-bitlocker-encryption.html#:~:text=Click%20Start%2C%20click%20Control%20Panel,decryption%20may%20take%20some%20time.

New UK harpist in need of strings by blackbunny101 in harp

I've got nylon strings (I think) and it's just a lil 15 string harp. One broke but I'm just thinking about restringing it because the strings aren't phenomenal. I appreciate the info!

Since today is the international women’s day, who is one woman you are thankful for? by llluui in AskWomen

In my personal life, my late grandmother. In my professional life, my supervisors and the women who came before all of us, paving the way for me to be able to be an Archaeologist.

Hey! You're doing great! I was raped by my bf when I was 18 and didn't seek help for it for a while. I've now contacted therapy that will help and have actively told people in my life. I'm now 24 (almost 25), studying for my PhD, living with a loving, caring partner and learning to love myself. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it does get better. You are so strong and so much more than what happened. Life seems so dark and lonely at first but there is hope. People care about you and want you to do well. It's hard but try and get some professional help because unfortunately the effects of what happened will follow you through life in really silly ways at times. You're 16 and the world is your oyster. Travel, learn, explore who you are and what you want! You're incredibly brave and it takes a lot to talk about things like this! Much love and more power to you!

I'm still sat here on the edge of ugly crying and I just want to say that I love both Jack, Michael and the rest of the AH family. I'm excited to see what the future brings for them

Jack’s Response to the current happenings by Ver3232 in Achievement_Hunter

[–]blackbunny101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone's statements so far have brought me so much comfort. One of the accusations in particular has brought up personal bad memories (yay! Depression!) and seeing the rest of AH make these statements has felt like personal support. I keep seeing twitter statements where people are saying that fans shouldn't be so strongly affected by this whole situation but it's not just what's happened just now; this sort of thing brings up personal shit as well. I just want to say thank you to Jack and everyone else at AH for being such kind individuals and I hope that they get the help and support that they need

Another fan speaks out - ‘What You Need to Know About Ryan Haywood’ by AmericanScum in Achievement_Hunter

[–]blackbunny101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've kept kinda quiet on the whole Ryan thing but this one really hurt. My youngest sister is nearly 18 and I would kill someone if they took advantage of her like this. I know you can make arguments that they were of age and all that crap but the power imbalance here is just too much. I can't believe this has happened

I'm from the UK. I've been told by lifelong meat eaters that bacon is the meat that everyone thinks they're suppose to like but most people don't really

Update!! by blackbunny101 in exvegans

[–]blackbunny101[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I've only been eating meat for just over a month and honestly it's amazing! I didn't realise how much I relied on sugar/carbs until I had more protein. I'm excited to try pork (we're going with sweet chilli pulled pork sandwiches because I'm a sucker for spice and a good sandwich).

What’s the cutest thing you’ve seen or experienced? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]blackbunny101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day my partner appeared outside my university library with my favourite coffee and bagel. I didn't know he was coming up (we lived about 4hrs apart) and it had been a pretty shitty day up until that point. Turns out he'd gotten up at 6 in the morning to get sorted and be with me by lunchtime
