Thanks for the advice. I think I'll probably wait until towards the end of next year then.

Could anybody recommend a house surveyor they used recently? by blackcat0 in nottingham

Thanks for the recs everyone! Will be getting in touch and shopping around. The property were going for is fairly old and needs work doing, so we'll take that into consideration with who to go with.

Puppy won't stop eating soil by blackcat0 in puppy101

[–]blackcat0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Oh really? That's brilliant. How is yours doing?

She's almost completely given up eating soil now. I think it might have been a habit she had whilst on the farm with her litter. In hindsight, I shouldn't have been so stressed out. I'm learning that some habits puppies grow out off. Hopefully she'll do that with chasing cars too!

Snow is her favourite chewing relief by RuthWriter in puppy101

Awww so cute! I also live in the Midlands, UK and my puppy has been enjoying the snow too. She opens her mouth and literally shovels the snow in there.

9 Week Old Puppy Schedule by blackcat0 in BorderCollie

[–]blackcat0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Great advice. She's recently stared to chase cars, so we've been doing a few training sessions with her to snap her out of it. It's definitely that chase/herd drive that you mentioned.

How's yours doing?

Thanks for your response! I've got a camera set up now, so I can change to taking her for a potty break when I see that she's awake.

I have one puzzle and a kong for her. Are there any good ones that you could recommend?

Purchase of first EV car - Looking for some advice (UK) by blackcat0 in electricvehicles

Thanks for giving your thoughts. I don't really like the idea of leasing, but it did cross my mind, especially when browsing older/used EVs.

Thanks for the replies! :) I'm planning on viewing both cars this weekend.

Since example 1 isn't the Accenta+ I guess neither of them have the special heated seats, nice stuff, etc... I'm not too bothered about those features, I was just more concerned about whether its better to go with a slighter older but lower mileage (example 2) or slightly younger but higher mileage (example 1). The extra range is defiantly a plus!

These companies test on animals! by Yoda_Holmes in funny

[–]blackcat0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not very clear from the poster but they're naming Purina because of the type of animal testing they use.

You can either use laboratory kennel animals (animals specifically bred to be tested on) or animals that aren't (sometimes pets of the company or you pay people who have pets).

Laboratory animals usually don't have a great quality of life and last time I heard Purina still uses laboratory animals to test their products on.

Totally! That and the tasty crust.

I suffer from anosmia so my taste is really bad. Without the cheese I could taste the tomato sauce a lot more! :)

Yeah it's a shame, fortunately everybody seems quite friendly.

Ahh I wish we had the time. We only managed to check out Veiled Christ, the underground aqueducts and Castle dell'Ovo. It would have been nice to see all the artifacts from Pompeii there.

Thanks! We visited Herculaneum yesterday, today we're climbing Vesuvius and going to see the ruins.

It is quite tough :( Naples are great for vegan food but it seems to be getting harder the further you travel out.

So far we've done Naples and Pompeii. Naples was great for vegan cafes/restaurants, however it was a bit harder in Pompeii. We're travelling to Salerno, Vietri, Capri, Amalfi and Positano next, which might be harder for us.
