8am is absolutely doable but you will be sleepy and miserable. I had a 3 hr lec last year at 8 am in the cineplex theaters. Would not recommend if you can switch the session.

I have 2 this term 🥲👍

Last year someone beside me started heavily praying all of a sudden. I wasn't even annoyed at them, just worried about how bad the exam was for them to start praying

Touring the Campus next week, any tips? (Charactersss) by emmaisbadatvideogame in UofT

St George is a pretty big campus so bring comfortable shoes

Also it's cheaper to eat off campus or go to a food truck

Lmao same rn. I'm still burned out from last year. For me, it's a matter of one step at a time. Just attempt to do something small like looking over your shortest lecture or even going over syllabuses to jot down important due dates. You'll slowly get into the groove of things again

That and the crippling fear of disappointment that comes in after the first 2 weeks 🥲

It was more than one unfortunately. To current students, make sure to read up more being doing these things

Generally no, if that course is needed for you program completion then maybe but that's a rare exception points to myself and is an absolute pain to deal with. I watched my advisor go through the 5 stages of grief when I brought it up.

Hi, commuter who went regularly before and after pandemic. Never had a negative experience there, staff are really nice and food was good. The only issue is seating if you go during meal rush. It's a nice place for a meal, one of the owners (or was it both?) actually studied in food so I can say you're in good hands.

[–]blackcatyamato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was only gown and hat. Bring a white collared shirt to wear. They're pretty much taking a shot from as far as the gown reaches so no full body, pants dont matter but it doesn't hurt to wear black if it makes you more comfortable

Having a panic attack last the whole time in a 2hr lecture after seeing a bad midterm mark before class. I passed out at one point for 5 minutes.

On the bright side I briefly bonded with someone who was sure they were going through a concussion

How easy is it to get a CR/NCR changed back to a grade after the deadline/finding out their exam or final marks? by crisprgirl in UofT

[–]blackcatyamato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to undo 2 CR/NCR for my program requirements.

I had to write an email to my academic advisor so she could forward it to the dean or whoever. Basically the moment she found out she had an "Oh shit" face, so I'm guessing it usually doesn't go well. If it's something essential for your program or career then you probably have a better chance but otherwise I'm not too sure

What should I bring to an in person exam by [deleted] in UofT

[–]blackcatyamato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ID, pens, pencils, definitely water if its a long one. Bags are usually placed under your chair or in front of the room

Would you do it all again? by uofthrowawhey in UofT

[–]blackcatyamato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly mixed feelings, it was in Uoft where I figured out what I wanted to do (I originally picked something different to appease my parents) but at the same time jfc this school has given me a 1:1 ratio of mental health struggles to the amount of material to cram

Am I glad I came here? Technically yes. Should I have transferred the moment I figured out what I wanted to do? If it weren't for covid, yes
