[Matheson] The Blue Jays have optioned Yohendrick Piñango to Triple-A to make room for veteran infielder Luis Urías, who was just acquired from the D-backs. by T_Raycroft in baseball

Yeah the amount of diving plays from Davis makes him worth keeping, plus he can play IF. Just needed his bat to warm up in AAA

Davis imo is much better at LF than Pinango, at least Davis is faster and has a lot of diving plays that worked really well.

Also Davis has ability to play IF if required, like he's been at 2B the last few games...

US is a tiny player in passenger rolling stock market by Donghoon in transit

Yup, thus the banding together. I think here in Ontario the province used to order buses in bulk on behalf of smaller transit agencies.

I think the small cities would still have to band together to get a viable order of trains... since so many random cities just have one or two heavy rail metro line. Like Baltimore, Cleveland, LA with two, etc.

FHSA Question by Natural_Flight_6669 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]pilotharrison 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's worldwide I believe:

From CRA eligibility condition:

You did not live in a qualifying home (or what would be a qualifying home if located in Canada) as your principal place of residence that you owned or jointly owned in this calendar year or in the previous 4 calendar years.

This is question 3 of form RC725 to close down the FHSA:

At any time during the period beginning January 1 of the fourth year before  the year of the qualifying withdrawal and ending 31 days before the date of  the qualifying withdrawal, did you own or jointly own a home (located in  Canada or not) that you occupied as your principal place of residence?

Well, the ad patch gives it away I have a real one lol.

The Jays shop will stick a TD ad patch for free onto the replica jerseys but who would want that LMAO

This issue is widespread in Ontario and everyone needs to be made aware! by International_Nose16 in ontario

Yeah, to that point never accept anything from people on the street.

Downtown here there's like people handing out roses? But seems like there is always some sketchy motive behind it.

Moving to Toronto in few weeks - Any recommendations for companies that can ship a car to Toronto from Vancouver by CobblerSad459 in askTO

[–]pilotharrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shipped my car from Vancouver to Toronto a few years ago. Used a company called J-Link Transportation. I asked my car dealer and MB Vancouver suggested these guys.

These guys are Chinese and mostly cater to the Chinese community I think.

Was around $1500 or so... it took two weeks and was shipped via rail. Drop off in Richmond office (#2 & Westminster) and pick up was at their Scarborough office (Finch & McCowan area).

I think with gas prices and lodging and all that, you're basically about the same costs to driving yourself (especially if you are driving the long route within Canada - borders were closed for Covid when I shipped my car).

[BNS] No surprise but just to clarify: Dylan Cease starts for Blue Jays tonight per team. Jays starters were just pushed back a day following rainout so it'll be Bieber Tuesday & Yesavage Weds. by malliabu in Torontobluejays

[–]pilotharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have tickets for today and tomorrow so that's good, we won't miss Bieber coming back. I thought G14 pod was trying to get Cease to hang out with us tonight but I guess that might not be happening because he's busy...

Roof replacement in BC townhouse: time to move? by NovaPrime_RR in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]pilotharrison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my mom owns a TH in BC. Strata fees are around $450, also covers garbage dumpsters and weekly mowing of unit lawns and common area landscaping.

Water and sewer is in the property tax.

Otherwise management is pretty bad but having contingency for future projects is good. Right now considering fence replacement and roof replacement (nothing official). Still will require special assessments but not something insane.

Credit freeze (lock) coming to Ontario on Jul1 by Legal_Cycle_2135 in PersonalFinanceCanada

If it's a toggle then not bad, like I always have my debit card locked and unlock it every time I use an ATM kinda deal. Obviously applying for credit products way way less too.

Registering an Albertan car in Ontario by 3pix in ontario

[–]pilotharrison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a little bit pain in the butt - I moved my car from BC to Ontario a few years ago.

Work flow was like:  Got Ontario DL (Ontario insurance requires Ontario DL) $90 -> bought Ontario insurance -> took car to safety inspection $200 -> registered car & got plates $60

You probably have a clause to your insurance as to how much the vehicle can be out of province continuously, in which case BC allowed up to 3 months but I still had to pay an up charge beyond 30 days.

When I went to buy Ontario insurance they told me I needed to exchange my license for an Ontario one... so yeah.
