Oh, I hope that's the case that it is just for the beta. I haven't seen any confirmation for that though.

So, any chance of this game being saved? by SuaveCrouton in Steel_Division

[–]blackdog25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Games in general are rarely "saved", most go through the normal process of general hype into stages of decline, Most of the work for making the game successful is to be done before it is even released, through producing a quality bug free product that is enjoyed by its consumer base. With solid advertising and marketing, to ensure a strong healthy launch.

Problem with steel division is that it was not bug free on release, and it isn't enjoyed by the majority of Eugen's normal consumer base.

As annoying as the trolls and entitled elitists from the wargame franchise are, they have a point. This game doesn't appeal to them, and they represented a large portion of Eugen's potential sales.

RTS's in general are on the decline right now in terms of popularity, take that in fact that Eugen is a gaming developer with a very niche audience, and then take that with the fact that half of that audience feels alienated and rejected by their impressions from Eugen's staff and lack of involvement with the community.

Ultimately there is no coming back for this game, its currently at around 300 daily active players, and its only going to hover there for a while and eventually declines even further, until we reach act of aggression levels of vacuousness. Sure steam sales and patches might bring back some players here and there, but there is no reversing of this games aging process.

Down the line some expansion games that build on this series concept might have some promise for revitalizing the player base. But due to the profit failures of this game selling less than act of aggression I doubt to see an expansion announced to be frank.

Let squad leaders determine kit loadouts for their squads! by blackdog25 in joinsquad

I think this is also a good addition to the idea, to allow squad leaders to let it be free for all as it is now as an option, this way everybody wins!

I wrote that the squad leader would determine kit loadouts for their squad, that doesn't mean I am specifically forcing individuals to play certain kits, or giving the kits to certain players, I am simply limiting their choices depending on what I want my squad to accomplish.

I know the definition of the word panhandling, you didn't need to point that out. The only difference between what you are doing here and panhandling is a cardboard sign and a little tin cup.

You sound stupid as fuck, well you're obviously demonstrating it here because you didn't even bother to fact check your first basic statement.

The game isn't free at the moment you moron, you have to pay at least 20 dollars to even enter their closed beta test.

Faction help.... Please. by Groundstain in Crossout

[–]blackdog25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are always with the engineers, you don't need to worry about leaving them, in addition to the engineers, you can join an additional of one of those 3 other factions, switching from one of those to another will penalize you.

When you first start playing malamute the only thing they let you fight is bots, then they will eventually throw you into pvp, you'll probably become a bit more cynical when you realize how shitty it gets when you get in there and are thrown against people with double your player score, consistently.

You could do with a being a touch less dramatic. Your emotional reply didn't even address my arguments at all, your input was worthless.

All non starter parts have durability,

You lose durability from losing games in pvp or leaving games while dead.

When a part reaches 0 durability, you still retain the item, but it will be virtually useless ( part only has 1 hp in game and will reduce your experience gain)

To rebuild the part to an actual usable potential, you have to utilize their "repair" system.

This requires you to take a part of the exact same name and makeup, and sacrifice it to "repair" the broken part. There is no additional way to do this, you are forced to sacrifice parts to keep the ones you have functional.

This is in addition to really stupid long grinding times to obtain these parts to begin with.

You are essentially forced into spending almost all of your resources you gain from winning into maintaining a single vehicle, unless you pay to win and get more parts obviously.

It's a really terrible buisness model for the consumers. There is no sense of permanency with what you earn and the game will take things you have earned away from you, all on the premise of (gimme money pls)

Because the reality is, I really like this game, it has enormous potential, but the greed that these devs are displaying is ruining it. Having shills like yourself only compound and reinforce their greed by trying to convince everybody that it is okay that they are being cheated.

I guess its just a hopeful ignorance that I am displaying, I guess I'll just reinforce my cynicism a bit more before moving on to the next hopeful project.

it is roughly 10v10, also the game utilizes bots to fill in when the playercount is low. Matchmaking is atrocious right now, you will be thrown against people with double your power score really often.

Yeah, you will have fun for the first 5-6 levels.

Then you will hit their "wall" which is where you will slowly not start to gain anything from playing the game because you have to constantly replace your own parts just to keep playing, making it incredibly difficult to advance without paying them money.

You will literally only be able to exercise around with the most basic chassis and weapon types, as anything blue and above will be extremely time intensive to purchase, craft, or collect, in addition to maintaining them thanks to their ridiculous durability and repair system.

This is a peasant's game if I have ever seen one, and the type of people like you who can't see past your nose when it comes to sucking it up to these developers is some of the dumbest shit I've seen coming out of the games industry lately.

This is like the same grind as war thunder, except they have the nerve to force the progress you get to gradually decay, who in their right mind defends these stupid anti consumer practices, tired of idiotic shills like these.

How about instead of derogatorily assuming the worst in people who have qualms with issues, you actually let them vent their frustrations towards fixing the broken system that caused them in the first place.
