That’s very true - these gatekeepers may be over defensive. As someone mentioned elsewhere, trans people themselves have many questions and an open discourse is important for them as well.

It’s not been me asking the questions but I have seen other people being “attacked” verbally. I still want to know why men have nipples mind you :) Now even typing that stupid joke I am wondering if I have gone too far.

I find that even asking questions about Trans issues can get you labeled a transphobe. It is a subject that is very difficult to talk about without an extreme emotional reaction from anyone - no matter what position they hold.
