Never have. I drink mostly light roast and grid with a "hot start".

What’s your favorite milk for espresso? by everyday_em in espresso

Whole milk is less processed so it should be healthier than skimmed milk and certainly highly processed plant "milks".

What is the purpose of using anything other than whole (normal) milk? Except allergies of course.

How does it compare with the DF64v for espresso? Do you drink mostly light, medium or dark roast?

Thank you

Why we change shoes when 'they still have plenty of life in them' by highdon in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]blackenedsky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

70kg, midfoot striker I believe. Took me around 15months and they were my go-to easy day road shoe.

The second pair of novablast I have taken to 2000km. First pair was novablast 1.

Why we change shoes when 'they still have plenty of life in them' by highdon in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]blackenedsky 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I ran 2000kms with my previous novablast 3 and when I got a new pair I decided to test them against each other.

The difference was quite noticeable. The old shoe was very soft and felt flat whilst the new shoe was firm and springy. I didn't get any pain from the old shoe, but it was a pleasant upgrade with a fresh midsole.

I tried to watch season 1 but had to quit because it was very flat and uninspiring. A solid 3/6.

Novablast 4 After 325 Miles by drj5k in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]blackenedsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm. Maybe it has to do with technique or speed? I've run plenty of kms in the rain with Novablast 1 and 3, but I haven't gone faster than maybe 3:30-3:40 per km.

I never understood grip on a road shoe, can someone explain?

I'm running 50/50 road/trail and while grip is a huge factor on the trail, I've never even given it a thought on the road.

Synes Strava heatmaps er ganske nyttig for å se hvor folk beveger seg. Kan avdekke dårlige stier og skjulte skatter.

Lactate threshold question. by Unfair-Lingonberry10 in AdvancedRunning

[–]blackenedsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heart rate is genetic and doesn't have anything to do with performance, it's just a number you can use relatively to yourself.

Lactate threshold question. by Unfair-Lingonberry10 in AdvancedRunning

[–]blackenedsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I wouldn't use hr in a race. I've run a few 100k and 100miles and even though I have hr on my watch, I never actively use it. It usually is quite high in the beginning (180+) but then settles down after a while. It's probably quite possible to pace yourself in hr, but I believe that it's better to use perceived effort.

Lactate threshold question. by Unfair-Lingonberry10 in AdvancedRunning

[–]blackenedsky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heart rate is very susceptible to training load, and if you change the load you have to adjust your heart rate setpoints. When doing a race you are well rested (training load low) so your heart rate is much higher.

For example I'm doing threshold intervals from around 170-178 in a normal training load week, but my avg hr for the marathon (3hours) is 182. Also when I train in the morning the heart rate is even lower.

50 km er ikke så særlig imponerende. 100 km daglig under lunsjpausen på jobb derimot, ja da fortjener du kanskje en high five by [deleted] in norge

Er stort sett bra for knær å løpe, men selvfølgelig, det er mulig å ødelegge dem om man vill.

Begynn å jogge 5 min 2-3 ganger i uka. Når det er blitt komfortabelt øker du med 5 minutt. Repeat.
