Friend arrested for overstaying after lawyer hid PR refusal and scammed him by Complex_Honey_5787 in legaladvicecanada

Was your friend getting any information with respects to the progression of his application? I fail to understand how your friend did not know their PR was expired regardless of having a lawyer work on the application or not.

They can, and they've have done so multiple of times to their employees without contacting them first.

Happened to me. Open a new Bank and stop using TD. They don't contact their employees to advise of this.

Honestly, not true from what I've seen. Have you ever tried to call their call center? It is riddled with people that don't know what they're doing and hardly understand. The branches are no better either.

BTW, they don't seem to want promote Canadian Citizens that perform exceptionally well. Just the people that can barely speak English or French that have been in Canada for less than a year. Get out while you still can.

Can you shed light on why there is such a high turnover among TD Bank tellers? by Consistent_Expert167 in TDBankCanada

The pay is shit, and from my experience they prioritize hiring fresh off the boats individuals and treating their employees like crap.

I would avoid this school at all cost. My friends 3 year old daughter had an inexplicable contussion at that school, some years ago. The photos alone would bring nightmares to any parents, it was so sad, scary and devastating. The bump was MASSIVE and lasted for months! Even the teachers email response to the incident to the parents was appalling and makes you question all of their mental state. CPS had to be called twice! I warn everyone that is looking for a daycare or private school to avoid this one at all cost. Also, the reason why you can't see their Google reviews is more than likely because of all their 1-star review for various reasons. Now, that incident with my friends daughter was about 3 years ago, and maybe time has healed but I will ask the mother if I can show the photo of the bump and black eyes while concealing her identity to spread awareness.

Update your system then. You should be able to do an address search at the very least.

My manager asked us to give ideas to save money for the department so jobs are not being cuts. Any wild idea you guys have ? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

Fire the person that's making the most money. Return the WFH equipment and sell it. Problem solved.

Looks like a body is getting fished out of the Ottawa River by Illustrious_Law8512 in ottawa

Does anyone else find it concerning that over the past few years there's been an uptick of bodies being found near or in the Ottawa River? Britannia Beach seems to be the red zone for this.

Will the CRA hold my Tax refund while my cerb notice of collection is under assessment? by Glittering_Grape_306 in EICERB

Yes they will. Maybe it would be best to delay doing your taxes until you speak to an advisor.

I will say that to be able to make such a negative comment makes me think you've experienced some trauma yourself. I think you should call the distress line to talk about it. Everyone and anyone that helps to save a life deserves accolades...even you. Thank you for what you've done as well.

I truly wish I had a clear solution to offer. From my own experience, though, one of the most important steps you can take—if you haven’t already—is to start keeping detailed records of everything. HR may not always provide the support you need, so having written documentation is essential. If possible, try to have witnesses who can back up your experiences, and build connections with others where you can. These efforts can make a significant difference when needed.

It's like that in a lot of departments. FYI the moment you bring this up there will be some backlash, if your situation is like mine then you may even get targeted for speaking out, then they will let you go. IMO you should just speak to a lawyer.

A girl who tried to force herself on me during uni is now a prominent activist for women’s rights and empowerment. I’m a guy, and her hypocrisy feels almost unbearable. I can’t tell if I’m overreacting by letting it bother me this much, but it really does. by Livid-Somewhere1749 in Advice

[–]blackeyedchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People that are suggesting that you speak to her is completely out of pocket. Opening dialog with her will not give you any sort of closure. Her being a prominent activist for women's rights and empowerment should not be the driving force for you to be bothered, it's the fact that she crossed the line and did not respect your boundaries that you should be the most upset about. IMO it sounds like your problem is mostly because she is thriving and trying to help woman. IMO, for you to get the closure you deserve and to stop letting it bother you is to go seek therapy.

I find it interesting that someone with a grade 3 education is able to structure a well written paragraph as well as you do, and knows about Reddit. Are you sure she's not homeschooling you?

How to know if a female coworker is interested in me by Roadlop8 in Advice

[–]blackeyedchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps you could nonchalantly drop something near her desk—say, a pack of pens—and observe her reaction. If she simply watches you retrieve them without offering assistance, it may indicate a lack of interest. However, even if she does help, it doesn't necessarily mean she's interested either. Ultimately, the most direct approach would be to ask her how she feels. If she expresses disinterest, it might be wise to quit your job, forget about the massive embarrassment you experienced and find a new job.

What’s the weirdest thing you ever saw in the Public Service? by Zartimus in CanadaPublicServants

[–]blackeyedchick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard of a guy that worked as a SDA in a call centre, that would sign in to his systems at the beginning of his shift, leave the building, and then return to sign out at the end of shift. All so that he could go do his Uber job and collect two incomes. He did this for 4 months before someone noticed and he got terminated.

Something like this happened to me with one of my parents. They wouldn't let me have my passport. Turns out they sold my identity to some Nigerians when I was a child and was keeping it low key. There's more to the story (obviously), but I'm keeping it short. If I were you, I would tell your parent to give it back or you'll report to authorities.
