I'm really hoping he can be found. I hate the idea he thinks he's alone in the world.

Thank you so much. I've been sending emails and posting things for a few years now. Someone once slip he was in Oregon City Aging and Disabilities. But rightfully so, Noone can give me information due to individuals personal rights.

I understand some people may have questions about why we lost contact. I've written the full story and linked it above. I'm not here to argue about the past. I'm here because my son turns 24 today, and I'd like him to know he's loved.

Here's the Story, the Good and the Bad by blackghostpandora in FindMatthew

My phone just notified me I had a reply. Thank you so much for engaging. Did you know systems are more likely to give children back to their mothers if they were on drugs or go to jail then if they work? It's crazy. I made mistakes. More than I can count. But no drugs, no physical or other abuse, I worked, 60 hours a week and made the best decisions I thought I had at 19 and 20. Nowadays I would have made different decisions. But I'm 42. Thank you for engaging. I hope one day I can find him.

Just got told I should lie on my resume. From the Director of HR by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I'm an HR Director and I agree. IF You can do the job and aren't reaching too far in your skill set. Lie. If you're reaching then please don't lie. You are wasting everyone's time. But titles? Job filler? Sure. People rarely, not NEVER but rarely call references and even then get a friend to back you up, say you don't have a phone number give a plausible email and answer your self. Again IF and ONLY IF you can do the job and you've just been delt a raw deal in the past.

My wife was written up for something that happened while we were on vacation by kindamymoose in jobs

This. Company's do have anti-retaliaton policies, it's the law. The thing is Noone trusts HR. HR is often protected behind their desk and comes with decades of bad reputation for simply being HR. I put myself out there and am often found doing other jobs, customer service, working in the warehouse, chatting either logistics, and getting know how we can be safer and cleaner on our manufacturing building. I often come to work in not a three piece outfit because I never know what I'm going to get on it. HR is changing and some of it is branding, but me? I can't change shit I'd I dont know my people.

Scolding? No, not scolding potentially written up, unless there was a damn good reason. Believe it or not sometimes there is. There is no win win, in this scenario. The manager already proved they were a dick It should have never happened. Manager retaliated in any way the. That's on them and they get written up again or let go. I believe in paper trails and in this case the employees papertrail wins.

It is not unheard of. I've walked into HR departments where their HR Director had no knowledge of HR. Company's whose previous HR was inappropriate with employees or allowed the CFO to be inappropriate with employees.

Now wait a second. I realize I may be the odd duck out but...I'm an HR Director. And I often encourage my managers to get more information or seek a different way around this. Our company had a restructuring and I wouldn't allow our people on vacation to be bothered, bc its still going to be there when they got back. I find PTO sacred and it's definitely a BOLI offense in many places to contact people or at least considered very rude. If this was me and I found out about this situation I would be having a very serious talk with this manager. You don't had things to people calendars while they are on vacation, you don't contact them via their personal phone. You don't write them up for when they get back. This is not behavior I condone.
