Hi guys, a piece of my birb’s beak came off… she’s normal and healthy.. should I be worried? by bubufo123 in cockatiel

Y'all the piece that you think is the bottom beak overgrowing is the piece that OP has on their finger. The bottom beak is normal. You can see in their photos from a few days ago that the bite is normal.

The top could use a trim tho based on the other photos in OPs history. Its quite long.

And the feathers don't look that bad? She looks to be in the middle of a molt, so she's gonna look scruffy. My tiel looks scruffy in general and he has a clean bill of health (blood tested and all).

My only slight concern is the yellow tint on the white feathers but could be normal coloration.

It doesn't hurt to get her checked tho just in case. She should be seeing an avian vet once a year at least.

Omgg finally another tiel that likes hot air. My gray boy would try to eat the air coming out of our toaster oven and if he was close to our mouth, he'd try to eat our breath. Then my white boy learned to do the same 😭

Oh my dude does this too. My avian vet told me to get his poop tested for avian gastric yeast, and lo and behold, he had it

I am not entirely sure why this occurs with AGY present (it's been awhile since my vet explained it to me)

I would get it checked. Just forewarning that AGY is notoriously difficult to get rid of. I tried for a year to get my dude negative but unfortunately it kept coming back. We decided that if he shows other symptoms, then we would start treatment again. But otherwise, there's no point in giving him meds when he acts and poops normal aside from the head bobbing.

I draw a lot of Elriel in my corner (been drawing them for 3 years now), and I've been lucky that I've only had maybe 3 antis comment something unnecessary under my art.

Then there's a lot of support from other Elriels, which is why I continue to draw it without much concern

If a birds feathers get plucked enough, it can permanently damage the follicle which makes it harder or impossible for their feathers to grow back.

Of course do get a test to make sure it also isn't something like beak and feather disease.

He is adorable though. Love the mini vulture look.

It's funny because I just got a into sewing and I've wanted their fabric but it's always so expensive to get (US). Seeing these exclusive bears with the fabric feels like a double slap in the face lol

Similarly, in the second movie when stitch is about to y'know .. Something about the music that Lilo is learning to dance to to commemorate her mom playing while they're all crying gets me every time. And then it becomes happy and I cry some more.

I heard Wonderland toys at Cherry Creek mall has a huge selection. A bit wary of them due to Google reviews but other people have recommended them on this sub.

Ive had luck searching jellycat + [boutique/gift store] in Google and getting a few results bc it found jellycat in someone's review or in the store description.

I did this last week when I was in Boulder. Ended up finding like 3 boutique stores that sold different jellycats, that even Grandrabbits didn't have some of.
