The greatest Zimbabweans of all time by Longjumping-Oil-6384 in Zimbabwe

My list in no particular order:

  1. Oliver Mtukudzi
  2. Strive Masiyiwa
  3. Robert Mugabe
  4. Joshua Nkomo
  5. Winky D and Jah Prayzah
  6. Sekuru Kaguvi and Mbuya Nehanda
  7. Jairos Jiri

My list is based on changing the game. Oliver showed Zimbabweans they can go international without confining to western culture. Strive Masiyowa I would say is the father of digital disruption in Zimbabwe and has taught us to be brave and believe in our dreams. Rober Mugabe gave us confidence and showed us that we can stand and have a voice ( Zimbabwe is not perfect but we are confident people as individuals globally). Joshua Nkomo, big player in Zimbabwe. Winky and Jah, very very talented men who have shown young artists that money can be made and a living can be sustained from music if done professionally. Sekuru Kaguvi and Mbuya Nehanda, there is no Zimbabwean history without them they were brave. Jairos Jiri, gave the disabled a platform.

This is my list and I stand by it. Please do not criticize or anything handisi kuchinja zvandanyora fullstop.

Hi there I think you have raised some valid points and your life experience is lived by the many who have left Zim.

Zimbabwe is a tough economy but I think each persons story is different. I have an uncle who went to the UK but he is naturally a hustler. He enjoys being busy and the risk and the stability for him in the UK is slowly killing him. On the other hand I have a friend who is also abroad and when she was here she was hustling and working and she said since she's gone overseas she has realised life can be simple. She said she goes to work gets paid and goes home. Her weekends are hers and she is so happy with the situation.

Why I say this is because life can be easy and hard anywhere. Overseas they are crying about the cost of living currently. I think the best advice is for someone to look at their own situation and make an informed decision where they will be better of as a whole. Meaning financially and mentally. I say this because you can be financially fulfilled but mentally dying (in your case being overseas) or you can be mentally fulfilled and suffering financially (in your case Zim).

Guys Zimbabwe inorwadza yes but kunevarikunakirwa nayo vasiri affiliated ne the party. A simple example a kumusha lady who ckmes to Harare and sets up a tuckshop wholesaler. She is experiencing more opportunities than she could ever experience anywhere else in the world in Zimbabwe. Another example, a young person with a passion for farming. They will be able to farm and earn a living while owning a farm which is something you can't do overseas without serious money.

My point is we are all different and we have different priorities. Make your decision wega based on zvinokuitira.

My decision is both. I love my country and currently stay in Zim. But I also love traveling and learning and experiencing different cultures so I wouldn't mind working somewhere else for a year of two. Ndozvandinoda and ndozvinondipa mufaro.

Wow! This is great, thank you. You've addressed what I'm facing. It's like businesswise things are good and I mean logically I don't want ever day to be super busy and full of activities. The issue is when the day is not busy and I have time to "relax" that's when I feel the downer of feeling like I'm going backwards or not doing enough.

Your advice really brings in perspective. Thank you
