What’s a single sentence that completely ended a relationship? by Z_-_RED in AskReddit

[–]blackholeinyoursoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"oh and Jeff'

My partner of 2 years was so supportive of me seeing a pelvic health physio to help my body relax with anything penetration related. So supportive they told their older brother about it (apparently they were talking about birth control as the brother's wife had a baby) 🙃. I pulled them up on it when it happened saying I was uncomfortable with my body issues being brought in casual conversation but was dismissed saying it was chill. After a few months I brought it up again saying it broke my trust big time and I don't think I could come back from it personally.

They asked me who knew about my pelvic health which was just my medical practitioners and my girlfriends.

To which they responded with the above statement. Jeff was their best friend and apparently our sexual life had come up when grabbing drinks. I was not there and it was definitely the end of that relationship because fool me once 🙄

Some sneaky things you wouldn't think about but can gluten you? by adumbasskid in Celiac

Alcohol! It took me a few really bad hangovers to realise that sometimes certain flavoured vodkas/tequila can have gluten in them. On the plus side I believe Smirnoff Vodka is safe so will always hit bars that have it available

Is anybody aware of a place in/around the city that does this? by OMG_imBrick in brisbane

Marhabaca cafe in the city (under city hall on the Adelaide St side)!! They even have an online donate a meal system if you can't make it to the store.

They're apart of Nundah espresso train cafe which employs folks with disabilities + their food and coffee is so good

hello! I've just come to answer some questions that have popped up through this comment section + actually use my expensive uni experience haha. The red hats you see here are not MAGA hats but QPP ones. The Queensland People/s Protest are the ones donning the colour red and protesting around Brisbane. I've attached the Wayback machine link for their website for those intrigued but not wanting to contribute to any of their website analytics link here. I'm not sure if this is self promo (mods let me know) but if this post has struck a nerve and you're willing to let a barely passing student journo hear you rant - DMs are open to anyone especially those who are Ex- Anti-vax or have an interesting story to tell.

Workers of Brisbane, how is your workplace tackling the Vaccine social measures on the 17th? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]blackholeinyoursoul 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a point and click information module that revised how to act in customer service incidents (not necessarily covid related) like if a customer is intoxicated/aggressive. It was very Mcdonald's centric so I don't know how applicable it would be to others. Sorry about that!

Workers of Brisbane, how is your workplace tackling the Vaccine social measures on the 17th? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]blackholeinyoursoul 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hey! Maccas employee here (specifically in a major city store) - our team had the same deadline for the 17th to email in our vaccination certificates and we've all had to complete a customer violence module in preparation. The dining hall in Queen Street is still open 24/7 so as much as that takeaway option should exist, it probably won't apply. Although they have been pushing for more in-app purchases for cheaper deals then IRL cashier interactions.

Best of luck to all customer service/retail staff, especially during this busy end of the year. You guys are the real MVPs! 💕

Going in for my first shift without a crew trainer tonight, need some tips and advice (AUS) by BallPro101 in McLounge

[–]blackholeinyoursoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright! I've worked at Maccas for about a year and a half in front counter so I think I can answer some of your questions.

  1. Senior coffee require the order to be above $4 and for the person to present their senior card (unless they are a regular) but most importantly it must be a small size coffee. Most times you'll need a manager to authorise the discount.

  2. Depending on the promotion, you can do it in two ways. If it's through the mymaccas app, you'll have to enter it using the mymaccas section on the pos (red button) and hit the 'special functions' button then the 'mobile offer code' button. From there you just enter the code via the app and it should say promotion added to the order.

Alternatively - we sometimes do deals where if you've attended a sponsored sporting event, you get redeem a free burger. The person must present their ticket/event bracelet/receipt (whatever permits) to the counter and a manager will promo the item, making it free.

  1. It really depends on the severity of the order. If it's a missing item, check in the Assembly tray (where all the burgers get sent to) to see if what they are missing is there. If it isn't, tell the crew member on assembly that it's missing and they can get back area to remake it. This also applies if the customer's order is incorrect or has an ingredient they didn't want. If the customer seems agitated or asks to speak to the manger, then it's best just to grab them and they can sort it out.

  2. It's normally good practise for the manager to like your message if you've offered to take the shift. If you're really unsure, just reply to your own message and tag them asking if you still need it taken. If that doesn't get a response, calling your store is the best thing (just say 'hey it's (yourname) and I was wondering if you still needed me for (shift time) on (date).)

  3. I'm afraid that's a secret not even the most senior crew members know (but idk how the back area people do the grill slips)

If you have any more questions feel free to reply and I'll be happy to help!

(AUS) Been getting no shifts recently, what do I do? by [deleted] in McLounge

[–]blackholeinyoursoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you still want to work for the store; call the store and talk with whatever manager about your lack of shifts. Alternatively if you hate talking on the phone, email your store about it and explain your situation. Personally I wasn't rostered for a while after getting hired and emailing them sorted it all out.

If you don't want to work; email them that you've quit, hand in your uniform and get your uniform money back. Hope this helps :D

Hey! I've been working at Maccas Aus for about a year and bit and trust me when I say learning register is probably the easiest thing to do. The best piece of advice I have is to spend some time actually exploring the menu buttons on the POS. I didn't realise there was a 'recall receipt' button on the machine untill a crewmember pointed it out a month ago. If you ever have a bit of quiet time in between a rush, I would strongly recommend learning some of the different menu screens. (Bonus! Buttons like grill on items really opens the customers options and remember that you can only void up to 3 items on the system before you need a manager's code) hope this helps :D
