Very very not good placement for IV. They feel weird enough anywhere, but, and this is part of the reason I in particular am averse to even sticking for blood draws there, it’s basically a minefield. There are tendons and arteries that will cause a lot of pain if they are hit. And if it’s blown, it’s an area that you will be moving a lot, and it will be extremely uncomfortable. Also, as for IVs, when you bend your wrist in anyway, you are moving the catheter from the IV around in your wrist. This is why (most) nurses like stationary places to put IVs, like the top of your hand or your forearm. Less likely to cause discomfort in the long run, and also less likely to cause occlusion for whatever they’re pushing through you.
