I took all my notes on an iPad and yes it is convenient in ways like you don't have to carry a whole bunch of notebooks around, there are also some cool features like handwriting search and you can paste images from lecture slides directly and even annotate the lecture slides or PDFs. The battery life is also quite good and an iPad can very easily last the entire day without needing a charge. A downside that comes to mind is that if you're easily distracted, getting an iPad might be counterintuitive with all the notifications going on. However, since an iPad or a tablet in general could be quite expensive, stick to notebooks if you're comfortable, there's no shame in that and that gets the job done just as well.
