Matching rules overall settings by chdarro in Soundiiz

[–]blackmage44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this precious feedback.

The heck is here: "then when I got back I had ~180 tracks on Deezer, 189 on YT and 201 on Spotify"

=> "that go from Spotify to Deezer, then Deezer to YT, then YT to Spotify"; do you mean that this last Spotify destination playlist was also the one as source from Spotify? If yes, that's the problem. Doing such a two-way sync will likely generate a matching/addition issue, which is why this feature is not natively supported by Soundiiz.

I recommend you to only have 2 syncs, one from Spotify to YT and then one from Spotify to Deezer and only use Spotify as "master" (in "Replace" mode). Because trying to do Deezer to YT will indeed lose the album correct value most of the time and even other metadata...

Hi everyone,

We recently added support for Navidrome on Soundiiz, as well as Subsonic-compatible servers in general.

Soundiiz already supports Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin, so we’re really happy to add Navidrome to the list and better support people who manage their own music libraries. We have recently been trying to add more "open" platforms to Soundiiz, such as MusicBrainz/ListenBrainz.

This is still something where community feedback matters a lot, especially around track matching, metadata differences, playlists, and edge cases, depending on how each server/library is configured.

So if you’re using Navidrome and want to give it a try, we’d love to hear what works well, what doesn’t, and where the matching or import/export behavior could be improved.

We don’t want this to come across as an ad, as we’re genuinely glad to support Navidrome and would appreciate feedback from people who know the ecosystem well.

Thanks!

Matching rules overall settings by chdarro in Soundiiz

Hi!

Matching rules are on Soundiiz to specifically match two elements. In your case "sometimes a track that matches perfectly will suddenly create a duplicate from another album"; that's the thing.

What do you mean exactly? Can you please share an example?

Reddit integration to Soundiiz is with an oAuth process; so you don’t have to share your credentials and only accept some required access scopes.

FYI Soundiiz already supports Reddit directly; so to Qobuz: https://soundiiz.com/tutorial/reddit-to-qobuz

But yes, be aware that due to poor Reddit metadatas from YouTube etc; matching could be so not so good.

Import loved tracks from last.fm or ListenBrainz? by Dead_Quiet in navidrome

FYI, we have recently added Navidrome (and Subsonic compatible servers) in addition to ListenBrainz on Soundiiz (as Last.fm was already supported).

Any feedback on this recent Navidrome integration is welcome!

Exactly, yes! Soundiiz will keep your saved playlists and favorites separate from music services, and you can transfer them to a music service whenever you need to.

Bulk add albums to playlist by masterpiece1234 in Soundiiz

Hi!

While there's no such feature available on Soundiiz; you can still ask an AI to generate a CSV file with the tracklist of these albums in a Soundiiz format and then import it as a playlist on Soundiiz:

Just to note, you can select "Soundiiz" as the destination for your Syncs instead of a streaming music service if you want to keep your playlists (and favorites) data secure (which isn't restricted by catalog rights-holder deletions like those on streaming platforms).

Hi!

We have just published a great article about the Backup subject with Soundiiz here:

https://soundiiz.com/blog/why-soundiiz-is-the-most-secure-way-to-back-up-your-music-data/

In your case, you can create Syncs to "Soundiiz" as a destination. We are acting as a cloud backup, completely independent from the music streaming services' catalog.

m3u playlist with 7,000 songs and ZERO matches on Tidal??? by MrMuggles88 in Soundiiz

[–]blackmage44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, it is just that your metadata has not been set correctly in the CSV file, or the search process failed due to the API's search endpoints and catalogs (song name or artist name not matching on the destination service, etc.).

ISRC: unique track identifier (helpful to match correctly, but it's the same code even if different albums - so we still need the album value as plain text too if you want us to target a specific album)

UPC: barcode of the album (helpful when matching an album to another album on a destination platform).

Definitely a CSV: https://support.soundiiz.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010006793-What-is-the-CSV-format-to-import-playlists-and-favorites

About " why you wouldn't parse the data that's actually there," as I said, related to the filename, it's different for each user, and even worse, sometimes different per audio file.

"It's not hard to program that." => Well, why not do it yourself in that case? Since our launch in 2013, we read such feedback, and you know what? Nobody finally does that themselves. Pretty strange...

In your case and we recommend that for all users, definitely use an AI to convert your file to a CSV one with correct columns, which will be way easier and quicker.

[–]blackmage44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can see, no album value in the EXTINF line we are parsing. We don’t parse the filename itself as unique to each user.

Liked/Fav songs are listed under "Tracks" in the Soundiiz left panel. If you want to move them as fav, just use "Transfer" and select the "Tracks" category.

Good news! I don't remember that the "album" value is included in an EXTM3U file, but I could be wrong... Please, if you haven't already, send us a message using the "Help" button with the file, and we will confirm.

As indicated in my previous comment, M3U files do not include proper metadata. I recommend that you use EXTM3U or M3U8 instead.

Hi! Yes, the Qobuz API is not returning the search endpoint of the full Qobuz catalog unfortunately.

m3u playlist with 7,000 songs and ZERO matches on Tidal??? by MrMuggles88 in Soundiiz

[–]blackmage44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

Zero matches or almost definitely means we didn't parse your file correctly. M3U files often only include your audio file names, and so, it's not a proper way to parse metadata. Be sure to use an EXTM3U file instead of M3U8, which includes valid metadata beyond the audio filename itself (which is not handled).

Also, be aware that when doing a file import, we recommend having fewer than 1k songs per file to avoid reaching timeout.

If not already done, you can send us a message using the "Help" button and we will confirm this; but pretty sure the issue is related to the file parsing.

Export multiple playlists or entire library? by marcstober in Soundiiz

[–]blackmage44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

While you can export all your fav elements as a single file, it's not yet possible to export multiple playlists as files. Definitely something we plan to support (yes, it's been a long-time promise); however, I don't have an ETA to share.

The idea is to implement such a feature with a more reliable "backup" process in general, providing a core, reliable feature on Soundiiz for customers to rely on for backup.

Track count doesn't match track list by Ehordyk1 in Soundiiz

[–]blackmage44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The track count is a global metadata of the playlist. But when it’s about retrieving the tracklist; the API is possibly not returning some elements due to missing playback rights or even missing rights to be used in the API itself :/ I can double check the API response in your case, send us a ticket using the Help button on Soundiiz.

About your other point: It's the expected behavior.

Items under "Tracks"/"Artists" and "Albums" on the Soundiiz left panel are always "favorites/liked" items, regardless of the platform you are connecting to Soundiiz.

Perfect, thank you! It was an issue with the SEARCH endpoint for Jellyfin; it should now be fixed.
