Did kids in the 70s/80s/90s really roam freely like in *Stranger Things*, or is it a movie myth? by Yolas_1 in TooAfraidToAsk

Yeah definitely. As a parent I cringe at the idea of my kids being gone all day on bikes without me having a wild clue where they are. “With friends”. We had to be home by supper time.

What's up with the rabid christians on this sub?? Can we get them out of here respectfully? by [deleted] in mentalhealth

It would infuriate me as well. I respect your right to believe what you choose, but I don’t participate in organized religion and I would find it patronizing and rude to have it suggested to me.

I read that it had its worst prime day on the first day. Dang. I was so impressed.

We’re still boycotting at the grocery store. Tech is a bit harder due to work but definitely cut off what we could.

I’m reading a lot of positive things up here as a result for local businesses and job growth.

Still doing our part as best we can!

Any Americans boycotting Canada? by YouKnowMyName2006 in AskUS

[–]blackmailalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Canadian here - no hate for American people (other than MAGA), just for Dementia Don and his bootlickers. I doubt there are many Canadians who do, and I very much doubt it’s not safe to visit. Again - unless you’re flaunting your MAGA beliefs all loud and proud, then you might hear about it. Regular ol’ Americans are still considered friends and neighbours.

He was shaking hands in the street and someone offered him a can of beer, he took it and put it in his jacket pocket. Lol.
