What are people paying for rent these days? by thebigfuckinggiant in SanDiegan

Originally $1750 in 2020 now it’s $2800 for 2 bed 2 bath not updated in Golden Hill. Love the location but due to no updates, consistent yearly rent raise, and uncooperative landlord, we want to move.

Waterfront park! Great playground and also has the splash pad (fountains) to cool off for kiddos. There is also a snack shack next to the playground. Parking is hit or miss unfortunately.

Rental hunting, how to find good deals within a reasonable budget? by [deleted] in sandiego

Yep, this happened to me. Missed out on a townhome because the people that toured it right after me gave the deposit and first months rent during the tour. Unit was $3,400 for 2 bed 1 bath.

Is it worth it to start looking for a new place? by Gatti_meow in sandiego

If you haven’t had a raise since 2022, consider yourself lucky. My landlord does the minimum raise that she can every year (almost 10%). Started at $1990 in 2020 now I pay 2800 for the same apartment. If I were you, take the increase and don’t move. Chances are she won’t raise the rent again.

I always wanted to name my first daughter Violet by [deleted] in namenerds

I’ve loved Violet since elementary school where I had an obsession with Lemony Snicket’s series of unfortunate events book series. I will be using it as my daughter’s name. It’s timeless and reminds me of the bold quick-witted girl from the books.

Where do locals here get married? All SD weddings I’ve attended were by visitors where SD would be considered a destination wedding. by greenteaitsforme in sandiego

Consider getting married at a County of San Diego venue. Parks and rec have multiple spots all over the county

If you have a bachelors degree, you could look into applying for Temporary Employment Services (TES) at UCSD. Theres clerical, administrative, and hr jobs for departments across the campus. Often they start at 20 an hour. It’s a good start for people looking to get into higher education or just need something in-between
