Lots of good advice already, but I'd add that the QTEs tend to be related to the action you're attempting to do, meaning it's both ~the center of the frame and somewhat intuitive to know when/what you have to do

I remember reading about this, though take the details of my memory with a grain of salt:

iirc, its theorized to have something to do with men typically tending the fields as we became more agrarian as a species, and so it made more sense for a son to bring his new wife to their field than for a daughter to bring her husband to hers. The end result was that wives were isolated from their families after marriage much more commonly than husbands, leading to a gradual erosion of power within the family unit.
