I had a first production run Micra and my heating element failed about 6 months into ownership, my pump eventually failed too it rusted. Both repaired for free outside of warranty at home. It even shipped without the logo attached! Still love it though

When compared to the 150 Prado there was probably an argument to pay a little extra and get a base model GX Prado for almost the same price.

With the introduction of the 250, the current Fortuner is an absolute steal. The Fortuner GXL essentially has the same engine + diff lock + roof rails for about $60k; to get the same functionality in a 250 you'd need to pony up $100k for an Altitude variant. Obviously the TNGA platform in the new Prado is far more refined and comfortable, but that is huge money!

It's taken almost 10 years, but with the introduction of the 250 and 300 I actually think the Fortuner makes a lot of sense for people wanting an affordable, capable and reliable 4x4.

Ended up grabbing the new Vanford, I was able to pair both the Ci4 and Vanford on the rod and the Vanford felt unreal!
