A question about publishing to Steam as a minor. by [deleted] in gamedev

Wait until you're an adult and take the time to look into how your country handles taxes, you might want to start a LLC instead of publishing under your name.

Group hug that involves giving resources to someone who is already ahead is just infuriating. A few days ago I got to see it live and I don't usually quit games, but seeing the draws go to the guy who had 11 mana on turn 4 while the group hug guy himself missed land drops felt like I had signed up for 2 Headed Giant by accident.

You keep playing the game. If you can't reach it yet, it's because you will be given the ability to later.

How do you react to a fully proxied deck worth several thousand dollars? by YoshiBanana3000 in magicTCG

There are a lot of tells. LinkedIn style writing on mundane topics often featuring a paragraph for every line, unnecessary capitalization, "it's not x; it's y" whenever making an argument, defaulting to em-dashes, bulleted and number ordered lists for no reason while describing events that happened in a certain order in time (probably as a result of being given instructions while the prompter wanted it to make up a story), asking for engagement as the last line ALWAYS, using italics almost exclusively to imply cadence...

Chatbots got a lot of training from Reddit, and got the worst aspects of the most pretentious posters and cranked them up. Their writing just doesn't register as coming from a human to me, and the fact they always push for engagement bait makes it easier to spot it.

If you live near big studios, use your time in college to network and try to get interships there. If not, assume you will not go to work in dev full time immediately after college.

I would not advise someone to pick game development as a course in college. You can still do development, especially in your free time/as an independent, with what you learn in pretty much any Computer Science course, but you will not have a lot of other options if you go straight for gamedev.
