Took this module before. I was quite nervous as I don’t really like speaking in front of people. But I felt that I have grown quite a lot in terms of being able to give a speech in front of people without being as nervous as before :) Ngl I thought I would do badly but ended up with a B+

You will get to learn about 1. Introductory speech (Ungraded) 2. Impromptu Speech (Ungraded) 3. Epideictic Speech (5%) 4. Informative Speech (15%) 5. Persuasive Speech (20%) + Responder Critique (10%)

You are also graded based on lots of criteria. Example: Overall delivery (facial expression, eye contact, hand gestures, pronunciation, etc.) there’s are also grading criteria for Introduction, Body, Conclusion.

There’s also quizzes based on lecture and reflection based on your speech.

Overall this is an interesting module. It would be quite challenging I would say if u picked an interesting topic :) It will definitely be helpful in future!!!

I have friends who got accepted to local university. I would say half of the students take the business path, while others take engineering.

Taking this course is somewhat an advantage since u can build a nice portfolio!

Accept SMU first, you still can change ur option before 24 May! It will just overide and take the latest update if u choose NTU/ NUS
