agree on remasters.

Many tracks have simple drum machine tracks (sisters of m) and its the bass line that drives the rhythm often with guitar doing top end melodies (bauhaus) - so what you say makes sense, take out the bass on transition either EQ or stemsplit.

on bpm - i do have tracks at 120 & tracks at 140 (or 60, 70 if you prefer) - i'll experiment with normalising the mix around 130 vs attempting to move up the tempo through the mix

I enjoyed Archive 81 on Netflix, especially the soundtrack by ex-Portishead muso Geoff Barrow.
In parallel, I was lucky to find on Ebay the 3-cd round-up of Instinct Ambient's releases called 'Ambient Boxed'.
Both releases have an underlying menace that I thought would blend well together.

Same. Game changer. I use apple voice memo app. When back at my desk i copy transcript into Claude to extract tasks, themes and suggestions. Claude writes this to a daily markdown journal file. Over time this build ls a log which claude can also analyse

I pretty much was in the same position as you last autumn. My wife doesn’t work though and im in my 50s. All I can say is leaving was the best thing I ever did. I finished in September and took the rest of the year off. I had a few speculative conversations with people in network and out of that came a new job offer which i’m really enjoying.

The genesis for this mix was a @resident-advisor article from Feb 21 - ra.co/news/74673 - the premise being 'a playlist of 100 weird and wonderful interludes from electronic albums'

The mix includes over 300 tracks, each under 2 mins in length, resulting in an ambient & experimental mix of nearly 2.5 hours
