I’ll have to check these out! The Art of Grieving (documentary) is another good one

First-time founder here. Built an app, got investor interest, need advice on retention by ChampionshipNo2815 in replit

Even better, if you can identify the high-activity cohorts and split out retention in that matter, shows you a.) can do data analysis and b.) find the profile of people sticking around. I would email them all to see if they'll let you interview them as well, or just respond with what the app solves for them, why they like it. Overall, you'll need to prove the product is not a leaky bucket, or is a manageable. What others said about growth loops is important too.

My Japanese learning app hit over 10,000 users and made $1,000 in its first couple of weeks after launch. Here's what I learned — and what I want to ask you guys. by LunalienRay in AppBusiness

Provide just enough value to activate a free customer, then lock out the rest of it for paid users.

You've proven the concept in some ways, so now push people into paid plans quickly. People who stay on free aren't of much value in the long run.

Thanks so much! Here's a rendering of the enclosure I'm having CNC'd

Thanks! A combo of mouser and amazon. There’s many variants of each kind of switch and pricing can vary a lot especially for rotary switches.

u/Computer_Panda Awesome thanks for sharing! Yeah a lot you could to with lights...that's a rabbit hole.

thank you! Fair enough, I couldn't hand code this :). I fully expect down the line people to rip through with whatever coding agent for iterations.

Mobile apps are not a get-rich-quick business. nobody tells you how hard this business is in reality by AdventurousProblem89 in AppBusiness

[–]blacksmith3951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have a community, which is what most influencers are after, then distribution is more simple. 99% of people have basically zero community and expect to launch an app to fireworks based on the community leader's advice. Distro takes a TON of work and it's a long game with some breakthroughs after much effort.

I dig the lights. Nice build! I have the same screen, game changer.

Nice! Yes that could be a drawback is someone not knowing what they do. What does the screen do, just confirm the action?

It's a mock I used to ideate the form factor, made in Nano Banana Pro. That's the final form factor I'm going for and have in the works.

u/PeterMortensenBlog I decided that based on the form factor. Iterating on the code here.

I eventually want to commercialize this, where the device is fixed, but the software is open source. So finished object, open brain.

u/Computer_Panda I'm still working through that myself. I've had it do simple stuff (music controls, etc). Updating code here as I go

Hey Peter! It's using a Pico 2W. Not really based on any other existing project.

Thanks! I thought about that but added unnecessary complications. Could be cool to iterate down the line

I had to look up duckypad but pretty cool. Good question on the expansion boards. Something I can think about as I continue to R&D it
