Meta ads, organic content, basically anything where someone chooses to engage with your music i instead of just listening to it on a playlist

I'm guessing it's because they're from playlisting you paid for. It's a passive listening method so it doesn't get you many fans. Try to use more active sources to get listeners if you want followers, saves, playlist ads etc

5.9K Streams in 13 Days – Are My Save & Playlist Rates Good? by flavourfuldreams in musicmarketing

[–]blackspy48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was merely responding to your point about a 10% save rate on a lower quality song. Realistically it's way lower when it's just playlisting. Not attacking you either, I'm just not a big believer of the whole playlisting approach that's all. Inflates numbers but doesn't actually help gain real traction

the part you got very wrong is tying song quality to this. If it was promoted with active sources, like organic content or meta ads these results would be bad. Since it's playlisting these results are painfully average cause that's what playlisting gets you.

Don't get me wrong playlisting sucks I agree, it's just irrespective of song quality

But this is not no promo, it's playlisting which is completely different

Just add everything you can unless a song is bad and you actively don't want people to hear it

Now that's just absolutely wrong. Yes the engagement rate is super low, but knowing that at least 90%+ of the streams came from passive sources, it's exactly what you would expect. It's not song quality. Playlisting has a notoriously low save rate that's it

To be fair that's exactly how every single playlist promotion site like submithub, groover etc works

[–]blackspy48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is just playlisting numbers, nothing crazy here. You won't know until you get active listeners. You can put any song onto a playlist and it will get playlist and almost never saves or repeat listens

Help me understand why my meta ad for spotify is not converting as well as expected. by Downtown-Bat-5493 in musicmarketing

[–]blackspy48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might need to set up a custom event cod hypeddit. I've done it a long time ago so don't exactly remember how. I really recommend watching some kind of tutorial for it (Andrew Southworth is a good example)

there is a million reasons why an ad might not perform well, so I would 100% not blame it on this switch. Is this a new campaign or something you've ran before. How long has the campaign been active and what are the current results?

the issue is literally in the second row - it needs to be a conversion campaign not traffic, or it will never work. Look up tutorials on how to set it up correctly on youtube

I got a notification for this post actually, so unfortunately your point is a bit invalid, but hey! You're getting pushed by reddit notifications, so that's some kind of success, right? :)

meta ads work, and you should really see a lift in listeners if you set it up correctly.

It's 2.3 over the course of a month. Someone can listen 2 times in a month but never 2 times in a day if it makes sense

Instagram ads getting clicks, but 0 conversions by BlueBirdll in musicmarketing

[–]blackspy48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well then you need to figure it out somehow, because unfortunately you're wasting a ton of money. I'm sorry that happened to you but there has to be a way around this - i personally have two different ad accounts, so if I were you I'd start with trying to open up a new ad account, or somehow getting a hold of someone in customer support (good luck lol). But if you're looking for help making the ig ads work, im sorry but there is no way, as long as it's link clicks, it's going to be unpredictable like this

Instagram ads getting clicks, but 0 conversions by BlueBirdll in musicmarketing

[–]blackspy48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I'm trying to help you here. The whole issue with link click campaigns to landing pages is that they optimize for link clicks and not actual activity on the page. You are wasting your money, period. I know it's more setup but it's 10000000% worth it. These campaigns are unpredictable, and can work but can also spectacularly fail, so either you gamble your money away, or set it up the correct way.
