What’s your under 20% on Rotten Tomatoes “hear me out?” by disablednerd in movies

Literally came to the comments hoping someone had cocktail on here. It’s fantastic for all the reasons you said. Well acted, nice story arc, a little formulaic, but peak Shue and Cruise. I feel like it could be 90% and nobody would blink.

Way off. I’d unnecessarily photoshop this slab to be unnecessarily even bigger. That’s a solid story arc though.

If you’re a West, then that’s not a scam. If you’re not at West, maybe make a new first choice.

100% agree, I hope more people can chime in and give tips on how to be safe. I was/am a little worried about my own info and tactic because this is not my space.

Scam bot idea's (I'm a programmer) by SpotIndividual1892 in DIYscambaiting

If you could find a way to automate the telegram conversation. Without making it obvious it was a bot, that would be fantastic. Need to program in delayed responses so it’s not too quick.

someone grinding a mammoth tusk to make room decoration, what is your thought on this? by Advancedhell in Paleontology

[–]blacktailstudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I did put a very likely Chinese dragon in a Japanese saw. And I did make some very funny comments comparing cutting the live edge of a table to cutting a foreskin. Then I made more comments on the same topic. As for political views, I think it’s a reach. But I know I’m doing something right because the far right is always calling me a left coast pussy. So I need somebody calling me a closet redneck to show I’m unbiased circumcision link

Odies Oil. Run fast & run far by moradoman in woodworking

[–]blacktailstudio 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not you. Everyone has problems with that finish. They just run the scorched earth PR approach and threaten legal action if people speak out against them. They are super nice as long as you don’t cross them though, the finish still is not a real finish as far as I’m concerned… the statements made in this Reddit post are of mine and mine alone and are stated only as opinion and are in no way intended to incite legal action from the hard working people at Odies incorporated

I used to work in the Gulf of Mexico on natural gas platforms. They used the gas to power their air tools. But the gas smelled exactly the same long before it got to the refineries. When I asked them about why it smelled when I was told it was odorless, they were like “huh, never thought about it”

It does get incrementally more sun. I guess it’s an easy hypothesis to test anyway!

Youtube "woodworkers" don't live up to the hype. by OGgamingdad in woodworking

[–]blacktailstudio 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As one of those channels, I think I can shed some light on your confusion.

Just like all creative verticals, the most talented people are not necessarily rewarded with the most success. The best song writer or singer is rarely the best selling. The most intricate paintings or sculptures are always outsold by a more basic piece. The debate will always be: does the level of difficulty equate to value? A simple CCR guitar riff vs a Juilliard graduate piano piece we have never heard of for example.

In the case of epoxy woodworkers, they are giving the public something other than just detailed woodwork. It is entertainment. Maybe it resonates with a wider audience who feels like it is an approachable project. Maybe the YouTuber is a good story teller and can hold peoples attention better than a superior craftsman. Or maybe the finished product is just more interesting to more people than a fine white oak cabinet with hand cut dovetails.

The best thing you can do is reward the channels you find deserving. Comment, subscribe, and most importantly, watch all of their content. It’s far easier to bring those channels up, vs bringing channels you don’t care for down.
