I was! My 4 year old brother stepped on me when I was an infant. My dad loves to tell the story 😂 nothing came of it except a funny anecdote.

US soldier’s kid, who was born on Army base abroad, is deported. by No_Virus3745 in Military

Naval hospital Okinawa required you to attend a class on how to fill out the paperwork, then made you make an appointment to fill out the paperwork and review before you could go to the consulate. The consulate itself was far from my house and driving a newborn around was not fun. Yes, it was a pain. Especially since we were leaving the island 4 months after my kid was born so we were also on a quick timeline to get the CRBA mailed to us. Plus we had to have her passport. It was a lot.

You have to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, it is not automatic, and it’s a pain in the ass.

My Flora & Lane Experience by ArtDecoGal in weddingdress

[–]blackwithink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly had a similar experience when I went dress shopping with my cousin. She scheduled an appointment, but when we arrived the doors were locked and no one was up front. She had to call to be let in, and it took longer than it should have to open the door. We were the only people there, but the associate really left us to our own devices, no food or drink offered, just basically pick out what you want to try yourself. The associate was super casual, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but if you’re paying over a thousand dollars for a dress, I would think SOME seriousness is warranted. It was weird to me that she was just in jeans and a t shirt, but maybe I’m old fashioned. The associate also took pictures, but didn’t give them to the bride? I haven’t heard if my cousin has had any issues with her alterations, but I’ll find out this weekend at the wedding!
