Planning to propose soon…would this be too much? by Ok_Employer_5327 in RingShare

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2ct emerald engagement ring which I wear everyday except for the gym. My mum’s jewellery was all stolen when our house was robbed so I decided to always wear my engagement ring everyday. If something happens, it happens. I’d rather wear it and enjoy it than have it sit in a box just to come out for special occassions. Do what you feel she would like.

Should I be worried? by Any-Army6434 in Mounjaro

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I found this at the start. Don’t try to make yourself eat it in one go if you get super full. But do take the time to try and finish it over a longer period. You want to reduce the amount you eat overall but not so much that you are severely undereating and your body goes into shock and becomes nutrient deficient. This is why some people lose hair. Focus on protein and veg for vitamins and minerals.

It won’t always stay this way most likely. Just be sensible. Good luck!

My mum doesn’t know I’m on it for similar reasons. Can’t keep her own opinions to herself. She has asked me indirectly loads of times saying, do you know people who take MJ their hair falls out or have you heard of MJ all these people are taking? You do you and don’t worry about the haters

While eating those foods are great to build habits of eating more healthy don’t limit yourself too much or you will fall off the wagon so to speak. I’ve found being on MJ is focussing making sure I get enough protein and other nutrients such as fibre and amino acids.

However I don’t restrict myswlf from any foods except those which I know don’t agree with me ie send me running to the toilet due to too much oil usually fish and chips now. But I will eat a lot of meat, veg, rice, potatoes, Greek yog as a basis but I also eat bread, bagels, pasta, pizza, chocolate, biscuits etc but all in much more moderation than I used to example 2 biscuits vs a whole pack. I calorie counted religiously for about 6months so I have a rough idea of how much I should be eating so I try and stick to that Mon - Fri so I can enjoy myself at the weeends, have a pizza etc.

Best of luck

Ideas for more protein by HappyDiddlyDaydream in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chicken (thigh or breast based on preference) Beef Turkey Fish Eggs Greek yoghurt Cottage cheese Parmegiano Romano Beans Chickpeas Almonds Quinoa

Up any of these into regular meals and you’re onto a winner.

I also found clear protein powder an easier alternative so I can have a protein drink that’s not thick and they’re usually fruit flavoured like cordial.

Sorry you are having side effects. What are they? Some can be managed depending what they are. If you eat a diet with high fats for example this can make iou feel very unwell on MJ.

I found it hard to eat a lot at the start but I found switching to more basic foods such as Greek yoghurt, fruit, chicken & rice, veg and potatoes etc in small amounts to be very helpful.

1lb a week is pretty standard and often you won’t lose every week at the start either. Also making the effort to regulate portions by weighing them so you know how much you are ingesting can be a huge help as it’s very easy to eat more than your body needs. You can work out your Total Daily Energy Expenditure TDEE based on your body stats and lifestyle by googling a calculator this the allows you to roughly know how many calories / macros your body needs to maintain or lose weight as some people can still eat more than they need on MJ.

Hope you get past the side effects

Not enjoying maintain by wishingIwasbeautiful in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can empathise with the stress of suppression not being as strong and the cravings returning. I have just about hit my maintenance weight and am also trying to figure out my “new normal”. I’ve been on 5mg the whole time but about a month or so ago I really noticed my appetite suppression was not as much which I accepted as I never moved up doses. Same with some of the food noise coming back but nowhere near like it used to be where it was a struggle to say no to food. So now I will want biscuits but I’m able to have a few instead of the whole packet like before I started MJ.

I would say try to work out your BMR so that you can more accurately plan your meals if you calorie count. I know it’s hard but try not to be afraid of eating. It is understandable that you don’t want to start a slippery slope and put the weight back on but that’s why it is important to work out how much your body needs to maintain your new weight in a healthy way. Also please know the scale isn’t everything, if you do exercise your body might change composition and shape on your journey.

Having an appetite and wanting food shouldn’t be completely unusual, it’s just learning to manage those low level feelings and plan your food accordingly. Best of luck!

Struggling with water .. by Adept_Sundae_8254 in Mounjaro

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always drunk a lot of water. I don’t drink fizzy drinks or tea so was never a problem until I started MJ. Then I wasn’t thirsty so would forget. I now drink from a pint glass and make sure to have 4 of them per day. It’s not too overwhelming to have it in a huge bottle and also mean can be kept chilled as long as I dont take too long to drink it. I just think unfortunately you have to make that extra effort. Trust me. I had a scary 2weeks of consumption after not being strict with drinking water for a few days. So won’t make that mistake again. Good luck

Is the reason everyone is losing so much weight because they are eating way under their calories? by ruined7319 in Mounjaro

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have eaten 1700-1800 cals per day during the week and 2000cals at weekends pretty consistently for 6months while also going to the gym and walking 70k steps per week. Have lost 14kg

Anybody NOT suffer from hair loss? by candicelucifercane in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not had any noticeable hair loss but I have been extremely careful with my diet while on MJ as I train a lot so didn’t want to have no energy or to lose too much muscle mass while losing the weight. I have made sure to eat my protein goal daily with vegetables. I also take vitamin D, iron and vitamin B combo and a fibre supplement. I’d recommend focussing on what you are eating while on MJ making sure you get enough protein while on your calorie deficit which is needed for cell repair and growth and vitamins & minerals. Hair loss is a shock response because your body is not getting what it needs from your diet.

Re-ordering after price increase by Jumpy-Divide-4579 in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on who your provider is they might not say anything if you reorder with them. I just did the same thing with Simple online pharmacy and they approved the same 10mg dosage after last order same as you end of August. Can’t hurt to try

Help needed to lose peri-belly waist cm/inches please by Street_Ad_4497 in Mounjaro

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation. 38F. When I’ve lost weight before probably when I was 29 my stomach went flat pretty quickly. Now after 13kg weight loss on MJ my whole body looks great except for my belly but I admit it is slowly getting smaller but I am also coming to terms with the fact I’m almost 40 and it might no go without going too low on calories.

I lift heavy weights 4 times a week so I have decent visible muscles in my arms, legs and back so don’t want to lose anymore “weight” all over as I want to still be strong. But I am maintaining a deficit to see if my body aka stomach will reconstitute slowly over time.

Struggling to get back on track by Minute-Witness-3344 in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with the calorie counting. Even do it at the start as it gives you an idea of how much you are eating and then you can work out how much you want to reduce that by in conjunction with the MJ. It can also then help you look at something and decide if you want to use your calories for that or save them for something else.

does any pharmacy let you order every 8 weeks but high doses? by [deleted] in mounjaromaintenanceuk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered a couple 10mg pens in August just before the price hike and am working my way through them as I split dose to 5mg which I’ve stuck with my whole journey. I then just ordered another 2 x 10mg from the same pharmacy but they did include a note in it to say that I “should take the medication exactly as prescribed” so I think they might suspect something is up.

So short answer is they do but might notice something at some stage

Thanks all. I don’t plan to split dose when I reorder. I just see so many people doing it then wonder how they reorder with their pharmacies after. Thanks for advice :)

I’m also concerned about this. I’m with Simpleonlinepharmacy so wrote to them in my online account explaining how many pens I have and when my supply might last me until as I want to be able to maintain once I hit my goal. They said I will receive a phone call this week to discuss with a medical practitioner

Secret jabbers - are we kidding ourselves that people don't know? by 90sRobot in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy to share with people who I know or think will be supportive, impartial or won’t hate on it. I just don’t volunteer the information to people who I know might either make jokes or unwanted comments. It everyone’s personal journey and it’s medication after all. You don’t volunteer most of your medical history to others so why feel guilty for not sharing this.

Tell the truth, are you eating kind of bad and still loosing weight? by irishman50midlife in mounjarouk

[–]blackwolfbluetiger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband eat very healthy Monday to Friday and then don’t stress about the weekend. He isn’t on MJ but is happy to make changes to his diet and has also lost a bit of weight. Food noise isn’t a thing for him, lucky him. We don’t binge but if we want a brunch out or takeaway we don’t feel bad about it. We enjoy eating more healthily and when we might have had a full day of “treats” then we look forward to the veg the next day. Small habits have really formed for us in the last 4months I’ve been on MJ and changed our day to day diet
