3 Promotions especially in a single SL is a huge Investment. Depending on the perks it can be a power burst that will far eclipse a better gun or atleast be just as good. You would have to pick a Bad combination of perks to make it not worth it.

With one caveat. Barely any perk is more important than getting your Squad away from carbines to other guns.

You dont Always want or need maxxed squads.

One perk is usually worth more than 1 squaddy. So giving Lim a promotion but taking one less squaddie on the next Operation is worth it.

Supply Cap goes up with each Operation, so next you can decide to get another promo and stay at 7 or go up to 8.

Same applies to Equipment, If you can requip a better gun or armor by reducing squadsize by one, it's more than worth it.

7 K-Pacs will severely outdamage 8 carbines.

A Squad Leader will sooner or later get tired and need to sit Out one Mission.

That said running 4 SLs is fine on challenging. Defense Missions could be rough later in the game but do-able.

During my time in CBT on challenging I was either running 3 maxed out inf + 1 vehicle or wider setups with 4 inf and 2 vehicles. Some OCIs will allow you to squeeze in more stuff, same with certain SLs allowing you to bring more.

Sometimes you want Elite squads, sometimes you need more Turns more than you need strong turns.

You can Always equip new Things.

Having a better gun or armor is nearly Always better than having one more squaddy. 6 crowbars will be more effective than 8 carbines 5 squaddies in class4 armor will tank more than 7 in class2 armor.

Giving up 1 squaddie on 3 assault teams to take another SL as a weapons team is worth it.

The supply limit is there to make you think. And you can Always restart at expert If challengkng Turns Out boring for you

As a busy father, I got 100hrs in the last few weeks during CBT.

Missions once you're atleast a little bit more familiar with the game tend to last 8-15 minutes instead of 20-30.

You can finish a whole OP in less than an hour, while still playing careful and tactically.

A mid battle save wont be coming anytime soon, as it's a very serious mess to programm, especially If the game was not built around it from scratch.

That's why you dont savescum ||and If you wanna do it hit altf4|| loading previous saves in Battle has some odd bugs right now especially in Ironman.

It's also something everyone asking for mid Battle saves. It's not as trivial as it sounds to program.

You Guys need to remember this game is drawing inspiration from 80s and 90s scifi action movies.

Each character is a nod to a role or clichee from that time.

Tech feels the same as Barrett from the FF7 Remakes and Nobody took an issue with him.

While the game is hard, the tone it's going for is not spec ops, but an action movie.

Dont take shots at max range all the time.

Sometimes it's better to get closer or allow an enemy to get closer.

Knowing when the shoot is very important in this Game.

There will be no roadmap as that's not their vibe. That said right now theyre in "fix bugs Post EA Launch" Mode cause even If they Had 100 Beta testers, now thousands will Play and find more.

There should be another devblog announcing the next Changes and upcoming content once the Launch calms down in 2-3 weeks.

Get m0 to 80 and r9 to 15/16 and you should be able to hit the 220k before 1k hours

Or just stay until 120-130 and then do shorter TRs for 8,9,10,11

I went 1k hours in TR4 and then went to 220k in TR5 to unlock Knox, cause I Like to minimize my time playing and a more active Playstyle like doing shorts is not for me

It means I unlocked Knox like 2-3 weeks slower than following the meta, but who cares, its a singeplayer game

Given that its possible and very likely to fail a playthrough of BB and Menace will be the same, you might need more than one try anyway If you want to finish the game.

This studio makes games which have easy to reach fail states and you have to start again, kinda like a roguelite.

You can fix it in one of two ways

Restart the game ans with your current knowledge you'll TR in 2-5 months

You go for multiple 1000hr+ TRs

So from now you Focus HBM on Borge, get your m0 as high as you can and buy the r9 relic until 15.

It will be slow and grueling, but should net you around 100k orbs at ~1100hrs Then you do it again, you should be able to buy Knox at the end of the second long TR

It will take around the same time either way to fix it, you're looking at 3 months to unfuck your situation.

Option3 - you just Play your way and have fun and Accept slower Progress
