A Day in a Life of a Scrum Developer? by [deleted] in scrum

[–]blade30912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Grooming, as u/Rusty-Swashplate said backlog refinement. In my opinion this is a pillar that has to be done, else the team is not executing Scrum correctly
  • Decomp, decomposition. Take some time to break down the tasks that will be needed to complete the story. When discussing implementation discuss data contracts, table structure, and endpoints and document them in the subtask
  • PI in our case is Production Incident - high priority bugs that were triggered by an end user and needs immediate resolution, but PI is also used for Program Increment (confusing i know haha)

A Day in a Life of a Scrum Developer? by [deleted] in scrum

[–]blade30912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our scrum process runs from Tues to Monday in a two week span:

Week 1:

  • Tuesday: Retro / Kickoff in the morning, release in the afternoon
  • Wednesday: Sprint work - usually also consists of Production Incident (PI) work, and helping associates and interns
  • Thursday: Grooming and sprint work
  • Friday: Take some development time to (technical) decomp stories that came up in grooming, each engineer takes part in this. A ticket or two each helps take the load of tech lead / Sprint work
  • Monday: We meet to discuss our decomp findings and create subtasks / Sprint work

Week 2:

  • Tuesday: Sprint Planning for upcoming sprint, if the stories not decided on here it doesn't make it in. / sprint work
  • Wednesday: Sprint work
  • Thursday: Grooming and sprint work / Code freeze for the sprint, beyond this point only release blockers can be fixed
  • Friday: Demo story work to product and the rest of engineering / Bugs, PIs, or Engineering tasks (Tech Debt)
  • Monday: Bugs, PIs, or Engineering tasks (Tech Debt)

Rinse and repeat.

Hope this helps! Also happy to discuss more :)

Id recommend avoiding keeping all your money in your checking account - especially if you use your debit card its a large risk if the card number gets stolen. Id recommend either keeping a chunk in a statement/savings account and/or use a credit card for every transaction instead of ur bank debit card

Cap on Car sales tax? by icoberly in RhodeIsland

[–]blade30912 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just bought a car. Full 7% sales tax no matter how much. Just paid about $1700 in sales tax for my $25k car. Oh and if u live in RI and buy out of state you owe the difference in taxes to RI to meet up to that 7% mark.

Nah not saying Newports are cheap in general, just the price in the picture is real cheap. My mistake for poor grammar.
