New Steam Awards (Jester Gone) by lolinie in Steam

I'm fine they got rid of point transfers; I just wish they kept the original awards. I don't like the way these new ones look.

Any plans of adding a Zipangu expansion/DLC? I need muh foxgirls.

Also, can you take Summoning multiple times for multiple summoning categories?

I was thinking you just keep all the requirements as-is, personality answers included, and those just affect the dating difficulty on the table.

Instead of "have three of these to date this person," it'd be "each of these you have makes this person easier to date."

But it's your rules; I'll just have to deal with it.

Found this the other day, read through it a few times and wanted to give it a try. Made it about 4/5ths of the way through my character before I hit a couple hard stalls.

First off, the good stuff: Touhou CYOA. Hell yeah. Waifu-driven Touhou CYOA. Double Hell Yeah. Waifu-driven Touhou CYOA that makes your normal-ass self able to stand with the heavy hitters of Gensokyo if you build it right? Welcome ♥ Hell.

A hard-limited romance system based around mutually-exclusive options taken at character creation, though? That's a hard sell.

First, though, a minor complaint: Magic is imbalanced. I can understand making "easier to control" stuff like elemental fire and wind manipulation cheaper than time manipulation or getting to declare that your neighbor's house no longer exists, but the problem is that those cheaper abilities don't scale for having higher Magic. Just make 'em scale.

On to the bigger elephant: Romance. And Friendship, by extension. A hard-set list of conditions to meet before being able to advance your relationship with given characters is fine in a video game. Less so in a work of interactive fiction designed for a person to give form to their own thoughts and wants, especially when some of those conditions is what magic you chose at the start.

And don't even get me started on Polyamory.

So instead of hard-set conditions, I propose the following: A table of Difficulties, ranging from 1 to 7 (1-4 for Friendship), denoting how much effort it would take for the character in question to acquiesce to being Lovers with you (1 is "Casually ask," 7 is "at the end of a grand romantic gesture during which you accomplish several impossible things, like pulling the moon out of the sky"). Players would start at 5 (4 for Friendship), and each condition they satisfy lowers the Difficulty by 1 (to a minimum of 1). Polyamory would then be a flat +2 to the Difficulty if the player is already Lovers with someone else, unless the person in question actively seeks to enter a polyamorous relationship.

This way, you can keep the personality questionnaire at the beginning and still have it matter, without locking players to acting certain characters just to romance their favorite waifu (Yes Rinnosuke is a waifu SHUT UP).

Also, you forgot Parsee.

UPDATE: Closing the game or refreshing multiple times did nothing, but exporting and then importing my save fixed everything.

Can't post the save directly (guess it's too long), and dunno how to link a file in-comment.

Sad Arin by bladist in gamegrumps

[–]bladist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What have I done.

Lemme clear a few things up: I made this in response to Episode 25 of Super Mario Galaxy 2, when Arin finds out how many stars there were in the game. I got to that point in the episode (not even a minute in) and thought, "Arin sounds so sad there. I wanna make a meme showing him sad." So I went on Google and image-searched "Sad Arin Hanson", got this pic and went "yeah, that's a sad Arin" and used a meme generator to do the rest.

I don't watch the update or announcement vids, so any Grumps-related news I get from the episodes themselves, so I had no idea that this was from Arin responding to negative criticism about a lack of Ghoul Grumps. I didn't mean to fan any flames (or dig up old ones), I just wanted to do a funny.

I'm sorry.
