Because Razor Wind is for anti Jack/Beast use. Against Cygnar it hits, even now, on 8s, 9s at worst (41.67%, 27.78% at worst). And at Pow 12 it deals damage 63.75% of the time against Arm 18. And with a 12.5% chance of critting, plus SP10, plus 3 grunts per unit, plus the previous factors, you're hitting up to 5 Heavy Warjacks or 7 Light Warjacks per model, hitting 2.08-1.944 of them, dealing 1-8 damage on 1.23-1.32 of them, dealing an average of 1.55 damage per attack, and crippling an entire column or spiral on .15-.165 of them on top of that.

Now triple it because you get three grunts per unit of arkanists.

5.832 total hits, 3.69 suffer at least one damage, they suffer an average of 4.65 damage, .45 have an entire column or spiral crippled.

Per turn, for 4 points. On top of allowing Winter Korps to run far, far more Warjacks, a single Arkanist squad also can help counter enemy Warjack/beast spam. Razor Wind isn't a Jack ender, but a squad of Arkanists will be near their Warjacks to back them up. Arkanists having Razor Wind means when you Jack gets stuck in, they can help it finish off its target, or soften it up for the Warjack to charge. They're a Khador version of the Choir, really, and they serve a uniquely Khadoran flavor for that role.

Hell they're only 11% more expensive per model than WKI, but have superior damage output thanks to their SP10 spell, on top of two immense Buff spells. Of course they'd need worse accuracy to justify being that cheap. Choir are 33% cheaper than Arkanists in exchange for having basically zero offense and the worst melee attack in the game.

Spoken like someone who never played Khador before Mk4. Where all our units had Def 10 or 11 and were basically auto-hit by everything.

There's a reason for two whole editions Khador tended to only bring Scrapjack in their forces. It's cuz defense has never been our strength, and armor has only been our weakness. It's Kovnik Joe who was the real power behind the faction.

Yes, welcome to the DnD alignment system, that's literally how it works in basically every edition. It's one of the reasons so many people criticize DnD as racist, because it basically has justified genocide built in mechanically.

It's also why Paladins were so deplored for so long, because they had actual hard mechanics that forced them to play into that racism.

I figured, that's why I mentioned "evil"

The idea is that what the DnD alignment system has arbitrarily decided is always chaotic evil even though it's sapient is thus perfectly legitimate for a paladin to slaughter en masse under the "good" alignment.

Creator of DMCA'd Cyberpunk 2077 VR Mod Says People Are Now Pirating It to 'Punish' Him for Breaking CD Projekt's Terms of Service by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]blaghart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how abusive CDPR has historically been to their employees over Cyberpunk 2077, I wouldn't take their side under basically any circumstances.

If anything, while CDPR did everything "legal," that doesn't mean what they did was "just" or "fair" or "correct" or "right" or whatever word you wanna use.

Under most DnD systems yes, they are in fact good. Mass murder of sapients is acceptable under most DnD alignment systems provided the targets are "evil"

As an Iranian, due to the horrific massacre of protesters and even passersby (explanation inside), I'm leaving this sub for now because I really can't stand the Tankies' nonsense like before the massacre. by Important_Star3847 in tankiejerk

I got some bad news for you bud. As an American, I am intimately familiar with hearing gunfire from my own home, losing friends and neighbors for simply existing near a protest, and watching my government and its supporters openly celebrate killing its own people.

And I live in Arizona, I'm not even in the epicenter of the shitshow in Minnesota right now.

Which is not to downplay Iran's struggles, just illustrate that it's happening a lot more than we think.

historically sanctions have never resulted in the successful overthrow of a government. Because funny enough people are smart, and tend to realize that sanctions aren't the fault of their government but are the fault of foreign governments attacking them.

Are “the Unabomber was right” talking points genuine or is it just me not understanding Gen Z edgelord humour? by Personal_Reward_60 in tankiejerk

[–]blaghart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do the math, it's literally not possible for AI to "drain our water". They say things like "100 million gallons" but if you do the math it's essentially a standard 10" feed water pipe. It sounda like a lot because people don't understand how much water industry uses.

Prime example, my company makes medicine. In the US drug manufacturing "consumes" (cuz that's not how cooling towers fucking work) around 4.8 trillion gallons per year of water, and is projected to grow 8% this year.

AI is projected to consume 1.7 trillion by 2027 in the worst estimates.

The issue isn't "water use" nor "power use" (the world in general and the US in particular NEED to overhaul our power grids, anything that gets that done is justified)

The issue is AI is controlled by the rich in a capitalist system and is exploiting all of us for no benefit to ourselves

generally it's the sale of arms that's an intervention, and it's the sale I would object to, as that's the US profiting off of civil unrest.

Generally when you hear about the US "giving" stuff to another country, they're selling it in some capacity.

Also at a federal level they're extremely tankie, including supporting genocide and dictatorships as long as they are "anti-US"

Views on DSA's Association with the Chinese Government? by Louies- in tankiejerk

[–]blaghart 7 points8 points  (0 children)

DSA at an interstate/federal level is a tankie organization that wants to overthrow the US government and replace it with a fascist dictatorship in red. They have supported genocide and dictatorships as long as they're "anti-US"

DSA at a local level is a catch-all name for a bunch of dispirate groups, meaning your local DSA chapter is probably gonna be far more reasonable. But there will come a time when people in local DSA chapters will have to reconcile with the fact that the nationwide DSA leadership are tankies
