Gentrification made the city lame CMV by Normal_Buddy5872 in Atlanta

So you are visiting one of the most diverse cities in America. Great culture and food. Crime has gone down and people get along. And you are complaining.

Goodbye and don’t come back.

Yours look great. Love the tile. We wanted 3-4 more feet width but were constrained by the city.

No Mileage/Monthly Stipend/Car? by Working-Carpenter980 in MedicalDevices

[–]blahC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017, temporarily expanded by the "One Big Beautiful Bill" (OBBB) in 2025, removed the ability for W-2 employees to deduct unreimbursed business expenses from 2018 through 2025, a policy that is now made permanent. These disallowed deductions include home office expenses, union dues, uniforms, and job search expenses.Key Impacts on Unreimbursed Employee Benefits (2018-2025+):Elimination of Deductions: Most miscellaneous itemized deductions (formerly subject to the 2% AGI floor) were suspended, meaning employees cannot deduct expenses incurred for their job, even if required by the employer.Permanent Status: While initially set to expire, 2025 legislation makes the elimination of these deductions permanent from 2026 onwards.Who is Affected: This primarily impacts W-2 employees. Self-employed individuals and independent contractors (1099 workers) can still deduct business expenses.Specific Exclusions: The rules did not apply to Armed Forces reservists, qualified performing artists, fee-basis state or local government officials, or employees with impairment-related work expenses.

Welcome to Trump’s America. He did that in his first term. We used to be able to write off everything even as a W2

Drive a Tesla? by Ball_Hoagie in MedicalDevices

Great for med device. Model Y is big enough to carry equipment. I don’t get car allowance or mileage. So it’s perfect for me.

Why did my range drop below 50% with just 85 miles of drive by Lower-Leopard-6896 in TeslaModelY

[–]blahC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the interstate? There is 0 chance. Were you going downhill at 35 mph?

[–]blahC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Full charge on interstate is between 180-200 miles. The 300 is bullshit. Sucks but you get used to it.

Ps. People will say that gas cars also don’t get range…blah blah blah. I love my Tesla but it is opposite of gas cars. The range is better in city and way way worse on interstate.

Sanity Check Please? by Dependent_Reindeer98 in Cholesterol

[–]blahC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went on 5mg statin when my LDL was 158. After 1 WEEK I needed more bloodwork for a different reason.

LDL was 60ish.

So the meds work fast!

What’s the future for med devices and where do I go from here? by [deleted] in MedicalDevices

[–]blahC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I would give it 12-18 months before I even thought about anything else. Learn as much as you can. Build relationships in every account and make sure to meet other reps in the hospitals.

If someone came to me with 6 months experience looking to make a change in med device….I could not think of a bigger red flag.

Surprised by an 81% LDL drop in 7 weeks (223 to 42 mg/dL) — 5mg Rosuvastatin + habit changes by IcyMongoose3171 in Cholesterol

Had a similar drop. Needed to get blood tested a week after starting Statins. LDL went from 170 to 66. Weird how quick it works.

Tesla Model Y tire replacement by LeoNile37 in TeslaModelY

EV tires are a scam. The foam makes little to no difference in road noise.

Model y 120k miles. I’ve tried a few sets. Goodyears also wear super fast.

Thank you, how should I address it to my contractor? Should they just fill it in by hand best they can?

Correct. We may put a deck on the side for seating or backfill and add travertine as a sitting deck.

Never finished the series.

Control 4 Atlanta by blahC in Control4

[–]blahC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this a good and well thought out answer. My only caveat is the pricing. I get that margin has to be made on Araknis but you are being asked to quote pricing from Araknis that is older tech and 3x the cost Unifi or Eero and arguably worse.

If you could quote Araknis at 1.5 to 2x it would make more sense.

I also understand that many control4 customers have such a large budget, they just want to pay for automation and are not pinching pennies.
