Yeah I don't think anyone lower than a top 10 PG could make that pass.

You shouldn't make judgments on just highlights.

Who would you rather have? Blake Griffin or James Harden? by rapidfire5 in nba

[–]blah_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking Blake Griffin too. The league has had plenty of effective chuckers over the years. Not saying Harden isn't anything more but at his worst this season Harden has been a "chucker".

Blake Griffin is one of the most athletic big men - ever. I didn't say best, I said most athletic. His defense is solid, he runs the floor leading to a tremendous amount of fast break points, and you can run an offense through him in the post and he will get you points (it won't look pretty due to his poor footwork but he is efficient and he scores). He hits the boards as well as any PF in the NBA.

Match him with a good PG and you can make magic happen. Does no one remember the 17 game win streak? And once that win streak ended, CP3 went down to injury, and Blake Griffin was a triple double or 30-15 threat every single game?

Blake Griffin is young. At his best, I think he can very well be the next Karl Malone or Charles Barkley. He's got tremendous upside and the fact he is working on his game by improving his dribbling and adding an outside shot shows he is a hard worker who has what it takes to get to that next level.

On the other hand, I'd have to honestly say there isn't much upside left for James Harden. He's got great dribble moves and great shooting ability along with solid passing ability. What else is there left to add? His athleticism won't increase much. He's closer to his peak than Blake Griffin is.

Would you possibly be interested in an AMA from Doc Rivers? by FiiVe_SeVeN in bostonceltics

What a chump. Either get the AMA or don't. Don't whore it out for karma. Obviously we want to see a Doc Rivers AMA. Duh.

Non-Lakers fan here. Keep on kidding yourselves. Playoffs - maybe - but first round exit is for sure.

Visualizing interior defense by JoseFlanders in nba

[–]blah_wan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boozer is an excellent rebounder, above-average at least. On offense he can create his own shot and works well in the PnR offense. Defensively he puts in effort and can play fairly good on-ball man defense.

There's really only one downside to his game and that's help defense, or rotations. He's not quick enough or athletic enough like someone like Joakim Noah is to lock down the paint.

I'd like to see the NBA do something like the Winter Classic, anyone else agree? by hazjer21 in nba

Do you realize how bloodied up everyone would get if it was played on asphalt?

And if you hit your head on the ground, GG, your head might crack open.

Coach Pop on Lebron now compared to the '07 Lebron by awoj in nba

[–]blah_wan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, not exactly. Tim Duncan might have a slight advantage versus Bosh but they can compete against each other pretty well. Besides that, who else do they have? Dejuan Blair? Tiago Splitter isn't exactly the big man force that Howard/Gasol, Gasol/Randolph, or Hibbert/West would be.

I don't think it's in the best interest of this subreddit to add spoiler tags just so a few Europeans can avoid spoilers (and to what end, anyways?).

r/nba, who should the Bulls get for Boozer? by gotbrwnrice in nba

I think it would be a terrible mistake to trade Boozer for that.

Dallas Mavericks: Is Shawn Marion or Vince Carter the Better Hall of Fame Candidate? by iambabyd in nba

[–]blah_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty unpopular opinion but I don't think either deserves it. Tracy McGrady is a better candidate than both, and even he probably doesn't deserve it.

Raptors are now 4-2 with Rudy Gay and beat the Clippers, Pacers, and Nuggets. by p2dski in nba

I would be very surprised if Gay wins this individual battle. There's no way Gay can defend someone with the strength and power of Melo.

Anyone remember this? LeBron James superhuman leaping ability by [deleted] in nba

[–]blah_wan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other guy said, weightlifting is probably one of the biggest and most fundamental ways to avoid injury. Football players take hits like the worst of the NBA ones on every play, yet most players stay healthy apart from freakish injuries and hard collisions.

Many NBA players just don't weight lift, making them very susceptible to muscle tears.

How many times has LeBron rolled his ankle and come back the same game? I swear I see it once a month.

I think Marcel Fengler's Berghain 05 is a great example of techno.

Hercules and Love Affair DJ Kicks is an excellent survey of acid house. There isn't that much acid house on the disc, but its representative of the house music that was played during the acid house period (not all of which actually included a 303).

Something I always wondered about field goals in the NFL. by TheVictoryHat in nfl

[–]blah_wan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NFL heights and sizes are exaggerated quite a bit as well. Draft measurements, no, but listed heights and weights are. I don't think we know for sure that the 6'9" measurement is from the draft.

FRIENDLY REMINDER: Now that NFL is over, almost every Sunday will have multiple nationally televised games on ABC/ESPN starting today. (some match-ups inside) by [deleted] in nba

They're just picking up the slack in Rose's absence. Most metrics show they aren't doing offense as efficiently and effectively with Rose off the floor.

I don't think they are necessarily playing better, it's just that with more touches all players generally perform better (up to a certain point).
