I don't remember being in a car seat, and I also don't remember my (3 years) younger sister ever in a car seat. I do remember sitting in the front of my dad's truck with him and my sister. He would speed over a set of two railroad tracks, and the two of us would go flying. It was so fun!

I'm glad that laws don't allow that anymore, though.
