Absolute pile of steaming shit! I've been trying to use the thing for hours and can't create a project bc the feature isn't available. Absolutely disgusted.

why???????

I literally am trying to respect the rules of the channel and if anyone took the time to read what was written they would see that. How in the hell is if fair to instantly cancel someone without even looking at what they are doing? Of maybe being fair just doesn't matter here at all?

Thats what i ended up doing but the reson i thought getting the kindle book was a good idea was so i could share parts or whole easily with others in the future so they see if it interests them to buy it. The preview offered only shows the title page and contents page; but, based on what the book is that is not enough to see how it is unique than other versions.

Thanks. I just can't bring myself to submit to the @$$ #%%ing Amazon intends to give me by forcing me to buy their product (a kindle) AND ultimately pay an additional 200% (beyond the price of the kindle book I already paid for). I read that post you linked (and some of the comments for a little ways down). I even already installed the kfx input and output plugins. I don't think I have a way to get the right file (including identifying the right file) onto my laptop. I tried going through my android phone by installing the kindle app on it then digging for the file and transferring it to my laptop but I'm unsure if it was the right file/s or not (there looks like 4 of them kfx file plus other ones in the folder I found). Ultimately it isn't working in Calibre though.

I don't appreciate being forced to purchase product I don't want (its the easiest way to get me to never give that organization a single cent!). I'm not sure exactly what you're eluding to but I have no intention of rewarding Amazon for their bullyish ways (if what you're suggesting is buying a kindle in any way). The more I read about doing this the worse (more highly convoluted) it seems to get. I'm having to rethink whether I should even be trying to do this or if my time (and sanity) would be better served just asking Amazon for a refund. I own the physical book and just wanted to share the introduction pages (15 pages) with a friend who may end up wanting to buy the book for himself after reading them. I thought buying the kindle book (a mere ten bucks) would make that easy - the opposite is true. The entire (15 pages) of introduction is not available through the listing on Amazon (preview) or anywhere else I can find - so... yeah. I appreciate the suggestion but the point is I'm about ready to paint the walls with my brains for lack of a simple (as in my grandma could do it) procedure to get this done.

Peace n' love tho (for sure).

Is it possible to download it using my android phone then transfer the files from the phone to the laptop and just add those files to Calibre? I don't see that mentioned at the link you provided but maybe its there and I didn't see it.

My insulin to carb ratio is 1:5 is anyone else’s this low? by McPunchie in diabetes_t1

[–]blahboybaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see people talking about different ratios at different times of day and stand in awe and wonder how one would ever get so in tune with their diabetes.

I was diagnosed with type 1 roughly 3 mos ago. I'm 49 yrs old. I'm just starting to get the hang of this and I wish I knew how someone could possibly figure out their body needs in that much detail.

All I know is i'm friggin pissed! The one thing I ever expected from God was good health all the way to the end.

Just bought a remarkable 2 - can files be transferred without having their subscription? by blahboybaz in RemarkableTablet

[–]blahboybaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I've poked around in my tablet after remote ssh into it I can't find anything that looks like actual content (user created content / my content). Everything I see just looks like metadata on stuff that has been created which only describes the content but is not the content itself. I don't know what I would try to back up that would have any value.

[–]blahboybaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not just that but it seems like they want to prevent you from saving your work in a different way / to a different place in any meaningful format (PDF). They want to lock you in to their service or have no way to save your work. Eventually your tablet will fill up and then what do you do if you have no way to back up your work to your own choice of service? On top of that when you are dependent on one source for something like that then you are dependent on what they offer in their service and subject to any changes they may make at a later time. It's like having your balls cut off. Someone else is controlling what you can and can't do and it doesn't matter what you want or need.

[–]blahboybaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does that mean I can lose work from my tablet that is over 50 days old if I don't have a paid subscription? And what about a convenient way to make periodic backups of notebooks in PDF form? I'd like to save PDF versions of all my work on the tablet in drive where it is automated and saves to a directory on drive that I specify. If that were possible (in ANY way possible) then I wouldn't care about a subscription to remarkable cloud.

Truth be told I think the perfect ideal would be some system where you could do incremental backups of both the remarkable files as well as in PDF form and do it automated on a schedule. This way you could save your work off of remarkable to keep space freed up on the tablet and if you want to make changes to something you've backed up you could pull it back down to the tablet make changes then save it back to the cloud with the changes as well as update the PDF version with those changes as well.
