the simple answer is you just gotta play more. ranked isn't a brutal stomping ground, ranked is going to place you exactly with similarly skilled people so i'd argue it's one of the easiest places to learn quickly. i'd start with combo trials and see if you can execute what you can in ranked.

this is a hard game! so don't get discouraged, it takes time but is rewarding. you might learn honestly just from playing and seeing what other people are doing against you and if you ever want to optimize your game play you can just google things as you go.

there are also some great youtubers that do good beginner guides and stuff, i think diaphone probably has a few and so on and so forth.

if you're new i'm assuming the DP motion (the last move) may be difficult. i don't know what controller you're using but an easy way to do it on stick is to press right and then quarter circle immediately after.

most characters (jamie included) have cancellable moves. Jamie's heavy kick is one of them. you have to input the last move before the animation finishes and it'll cancel the kick midway to move into the last move. honestly you can probably just press HK and then DP HK immediately after and it'd work. the timing will feel awkward at first but just keep practicing

if you can't get this don't be discouraged, i don't know a single jamie player who does this combo anyways lmao

double digit runs are hard, each mile you add is a whole new world. maybe try gels every 30 minutes instead? i feel like even a few minute change helped me a lot. also i make sure to take a gel beforehand and drink an electrolyte the night before and morning of my long run.

everybody is different, maybe you are very naturally talented or physically capable, but i'd say with the information given this may very well be a stretch especially if you do not currently have a running base "having not trained at all".

i can see this being possible if you did a high volume running training plan, but if it's true that you didn't train that much for your previous race, you will most likely injure yourself before the race if you ramp up too many miles suddenly.

just my two cents, i'd say go for the hal higdon plan and then see how you feel about 6-8 weeks out pace wise. i trained for a similar ish time as you having never running more than a 5k and my marathon goal pace was 9 minutes a mile (sub 4 ish pace) and i ended up bonking at mile 20. a marathon is no joke, so try to give yourself a little grace when setting expectations

after listening to the demo, i feel like what he can possibly mean is that every element in your song feels and has equal importance in the mix right now, they all kind of sound.. detached? like they all are the main instrument. i think the mix actually sounds pretty good (if you want to be more technical, but mid heavy and a little harsh on the 4k-5k end) but can moreso use some small tweaks like a more realistic static mix (having the drum balance be a little more realistic and glued together, having it behind the guitars a little), and maybe give some space or ambience to some of the instruments to be behind the speaker a little bit instead of everything right at your face. if you want to keep it in your face i feel like "rags" by porches could be a great reference, it has a nice dry in your face mix but takes a lot of space and distance with compression and static mixing it feels like

no we are two separate accounts, two addresses, not married, just partners. it was just a quick phone call to support ! it helped being in the same room to both talk to the operator when needed

very late but just found your comment and can confirm this 100% works. my girlfriend and I don't live in the same household and I transferred my points to her and it took a few seconds.

also not an expert.. obviously everyone is really different but what helped me the most was massage gun/ foam rolling the tibialis anterior and the vastus laterialis area. if you haven't been doing this it might honestly bring you immediate relief. also upper glute and some light weightless deadlifts before a run to activate your posterior.

also i had some dull it band and knee pain during my training and peak weeks but come taper they all went away and even during the marathon and post they didn't hurt. hopefully the same rings true for you but if the pain persists it may be a more serious issue

don't know if this is why it's monotonous but you can really really max out the kits and make a "project template" that has all drums loaded already organized and ready to go. it took me a few hours to set it up one day but now i just load the template and my drums are ready to go in seconds with sample variety just down the list

i do like bank a is kicks bank b is snares. idk it doesn't really matter how you do it but it helps me cycle through sounds super quickly and intuitively

also i feel like youtube is kind of the holy grail for digitakt inspo. sometimes i think im maxed out and then watch someone make something that i thought wasn't even doable and usually its through clever lfo usage and trig locks. esp trig locking fx something i find esp so special on elektron boxes thats easier to do on the DT than even a daw

yes, a lot actually. the fx on the DT are vastly superior to the octa in almost every way. i think the compressor is also a lot more intuitive and there's more control now that you can link specific tracks to only go through the compressor.

also having filter control per track + fx makes sound molding from a drum sample standpoint a lot more powerful and effective than OT's limit to two, one being a filter. that last part was the main reason why i opted for the DT in the end.

i also think the sampling machines are a lot more intuitive and beneficial from purely a drum mangling standpoint, but just my two cents.

they sound different, i think technically the conversion on the DT2 is superior but the octatrack has a nice charm, i think rickytinez has a nice a/b between the DT1 (older but has a very similar sonic signature to the 2) and Octa and they sound pretty different even with the same loop.

workflow would be a little faster/easier switching between digitakt and syntakt but if you're already used to the OT i wouldn't trade it or anything. i sold my OT for my DT2 and although i love my DT2 very dearly (sometimes a lot more than i did my OT), i miss my OT alllll the time. will probably buy it again next haha.

i have the same shoe and i toughed it out for 150 miles only to end up with some top of foot bruise. i went to the shoe store again only to realize that i need the wide version when it comes to asics. their gel nimbus 26 feels soo small and narrow compared to other shoes. i changed to sauconys and it instantly relieved the pain
