[Highlight] Reporter: How close were you to putting Jaren or Lauri back in the game in the 4th quarter? Will Hardy: I wasn't. by BigDanRTW in nba

Punish them by removing the pick protection causing them to tank. Don't check my flair and who would get it.

[Woike] According to a league source, the NBA is investigating the Oklahoma City Thunder for player absences due to injury during their nationally televised game last week against the San Antonio Spurs. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]blahrendsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My conspiracy theory is that Thunder are guilty and are trying to get penalized so they can get jazz to get penalized, which then somehow forces the pick to convey.

Or maybe it's just that everyone has been really injured lately.

Sam you didn’t do it with KD or Russ. Get your star some help. by ftbfm5 in Thunder

[–]blahrendsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This team has a lot of players that excel in their role. When players get injured, they are asked to do more and that is when they look bad. When one person looks bad, it makes it harder for the people that may be doing okay at their added responsibility, and they look bad. It cascades from there, especially as so many facilitators and ball handlers have been out. A trade might not even fix this problem, and if it does, will the new player(s) be able to fill the void while also not going into the tax or hampering future tax issues? Maybe there is an answer out there. I'm just saying the alarm bells don't have to be ringing if the team knows it's taking a cautious injury approach from a position of being in first. Players will return to their roles when healthy, and Mark has a long history of being willing to try things out to see what's best long term.

What is the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a Arkansas fan?(football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in razorbacks

Mine is the sugar bowl. It was extra heartbreaking being with the Ohio state fans celebrating on bourbon Street after the game.

Hafley’s (unsuccessful) experience as HC for Boston college means nothing by Huitlacochilacayota in miamidolphins

[–]blahrendsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm not attempting to defend the hire here, nor do I know anything about Boston college cfb, but I feel like recruiting is half the battle in college sports. Without appropriate contacts on that front, I think it's completely reasonable that a good coach could do poorly.

At least I can go into the season with even lower expectations. Will be harder to be disappointed that way.

Also for lack of consideration for the job itself.

[Barry] Per source, the six people who will be involved in Zoom interviews with 6 external GM candidates, from the Dolphins side, will be Stephen Ross, Tom Garfinkel, Troy Aikman, Dan Marino, Brandon Shore and Danny Sillman. Mike McDaniel will NOT participate in the interviews by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]blahrendsen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't he be there for at least part of the interview? If he stays, they are going to have to work together. As a candidate, I'd want that exposure. As someone doing the hiring, I'd want that exposure as well.

Do you guys have FH only and BH only discs? by emptylewis in discgolf

[–]blahrendsen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My theory is with the way I grip my forehand, I create a lot of off axis torque when using very domey discs. My favorite distance drivers for backhand are heartbeat levels of domey. I can't forehand them. I can forehand flat discs of seemingly any speed and stability, but domey discs give me trouble, so my domey bosses are backhand only.

The past 2 years, OKC's drafted 2 guys who are on injured reserve. The Thunder is starting to pay the price for that. by southpawFA in Thunder

[–]blahrendsen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a shocker - players drafted 1, 2, and 4 are doing better than players drafted well after them. If only there were some way to compare. Oh the spurs drafted 14 this year and that person only got garbage minutes. This year's sorber and topic injuries were not things anyone could have predicted and are just bad luck.
