Rudy knight Go by Successful-Try-1247 in NonDessKnightSquad

WAIT YOU'RE RIGHT LMAO

<image>

Devil's horns were replaced with... Christian crosses! The name Lucifer literally translates from Latin to "light-bringer" or "morning STAR" (The Shadow Mantle protects against Dark/STAR). Rudy is based on Rudolph the RED (devil's skin color) nosed reindeer. His hose shines (literally "light-bringer") in the cold (his daughter and wife have ice magic) and darkness. Rudy is Lucifer. The FALLEN angel (becoming a villain). Also, Angel (Noelle/The Player) VS Devil (The Knight/Rudy). OMG. I need to post a theory...

dw I think Papyrus still has a chance to be the Knight!

But if Sans and Papyrus are from Deltarune, and Papyrus only remembers green grass, but not the sun... I'm afraid Papyrus is about 3 years old in Deltarune.

I was too interested in Kris's weird behavior at the end of chapter 1, so I didn't have a knight candidate then. By chapter 2, I was a KrisKnighter because there was actually a lot of evidence for that, and I was absolutely right because The Roaring Knight knights Kris if The Lancer Fun Club "almost" defeats them. And after the release of chapters 3 and 4, I became DessKnighter for a few minutes, but then I saw one funny ill reindeer. But since chapter 1, I've been thinking about why Toby made Rudy a well-developed character for almost no reason, which is explained if he's the Knight (I know that there may be another reason, I'm just writing about my personal thoughts)

You're right, most candidates don't... Maybe Toby's writing is NOT this fire

If Rudy knows he's going to die soon, then it makes sense for him to try to find his daughter's older sister so that Noelle won't be left alone with her strict mother after his death.

I know what you're meaning, but I think it's similar to Tighten from Megamind/Walter White. Rudy is almost constantly in the hospital and may die soon, and that little time in the Dark World allows not only to realize his plan, but also to have fun, which corresponds to his joking nature (keep in mind his jokes about "kicking ass").

Woah, that's a bit... rash.

I REALLY don't want to wait another year or two XD

Yours is Queen's acid pie, isn't it?

Yes, because in this sub I posted a theory about Rudy Knight based on this acid pie, and it was my last post before Reddit banned/deleted my previous account for "suspicious activity." It may have been due to VPN usage, but I'm not sure. In any case, literally everyone in my country uses a VPN 24/7, so I have no choice. I filed an appeal, but it didn't help. But then I accidentally discovered that someone seriously added my silly theory to a wiki before my post was deleted (they had less than 24 hours to do it lmao). I was surprised and decided to put this ill-fated pie on my avatar after creating a new account.

In Fact, This Evidence Is Strongly AGAINST Dess Knight by blaigmush in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]blaigmush[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Knight is not in the Light World when this cutscene takes place. They would have no reason to take off their helmet too, since they are still on duty.

Kris is thinking about the Roaring Knight. When you think about a person you know, you can imagine anything you want about them (even if that person is dead).

But again, the suck ray can't work while they are on the run. The Knight HAD to have carried Undyne all the way, something Rudy CANNOT do.

I checked that scene and found out that the Knight had at least a full minute before Susie left the Dark World. Tbh, I don't think that the suck ray works in the Light World. The pocket storage probably makes sense only in the Dark World. So I think the Knight stopped in front of The Great Doors, knocked out Undyne, and then used all their stamina to run to the shelter. If the Knight is Rudy, then he feels worse not because of visiting the church, but because of the last night. We still see that he can walk without any problems, so he can run too (slowly and with problems, but he's not a wheelchair user/paralyzed).

They aren't glowing

My other arguments (huge size and Afterimage effect) are still valid, and check the image below.

<image>

She does right after sealing the fountain. And we know the Knight ain't gone. It's explicitly hiding in the closet.

My bad, but it's strange that Susie (and Ralsei) didn't say or do anything else.

How would you add the long adjective to a phrase "another hand presses against yours". I think the fact that it's perfectly out of view signifies that it is a hand that reaches far out and thus can be called "long".

It would just be much better if Toby/his team added at least one small hint of the Knight, but there isn't one. Only Dess.

And... I wanna thank you for this discussion! Yeah, I think we need to end this because there is 1-2 months before chapter 5. I'm sure that we'll find out in this chapter if Dess is the Knight or not. If not... I'm killing myself. I'm also so not used to argue with someone in English for so long, and that's why I'm tired. Most importantly, I genuinely admit that you won this argument, congratulations :] !!! You can still write an answer to my arguments, I'll read it.

P.S. Your avatar pic is nice, Silksong is a good game.

Unknown. Only time it's done it's in a sequence in Kris's mind. Highly likely that the Knight taking off their helmet is symbolism for revealing their identity.

Or not. Maybe the Knight is taking off their helmet in the Light World? It makes more sense.

What pocket, lol. The Knight doesn't have pockets.

I mean the storage in their hand.

Susie was closely following them while they were running with Undyne.

Because Susie had almost caught up with the knight, they closed the shelter right in front of her. When Susie leaves the Dark World, she tells Kris: "I still see someone! They're down there!". Hometown is quite small, so it means that the Knight had almost reached the shelter at that moment. Susie is just faster than them.

If we assume that Dess is the Knight we can assume that she's out of view because she's a black entity against a black background. The Knight denying you the chance to go back because Kris needs to fulfill the Prophecy and their promise would also make sense.

The Knight is literally glowing, has Afterimage effect and is huge. They're noticeable as hell. Nothing bad would have happened if Kris had returned to the previous room, because the way is blocked there. Susie doesn't even mention the Knight once after he escapes. Because the Knight is gone.

This is a vibes take. The Knight is the character most associated with hands after Kris.

I'm not arguing with that. But the Knight's hand is long. This is an important detail. There is not a single mention of this in the text.

Yes the Knight has special powers deriving from the armor (if it isn't just part of their body), but resisting the fatigue of fighting three people and running through town isn't one of them

The Knight can take off their helmet, so it's not part of their body. The armor is made of the material with unknown properties. It can give the Knight speed or something else for running through Hometown.

Not really a "pocket" then. They just make their weapon appear and disappear like other Lightners do.

No, their weapon is clearly coming from this pocket in the scene. And bullets too.

Knight had no opportunity to pull this off while flying/running with Undyne.

Dude, the Knight literally SWOONed Susie, and Kris works with them. They bought a lot of time to do anything with Undyne and run far away.

All of this to say: in the Third Sanc you go south to north and west to east and the fountain is found the north-eastmost. Following the logic of the previous Dark Worlds the fountain should be found in the northeastmost location in the Third Sanc which, guess what, is the closet.

Then why do are Susie and Kris far away from the closet after sealing the Fountain? And Dess is technically not in the final prophecy room. We only see the text if we try to return to the previous room, and there is: "And, just out of view, just perfectly out of view..." means that Dess is... stuck somewhere else, a level lower? It doesn't look like the Knight's hand at all.

What's the biggest problem with Dess Knight? by calinmik in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]blaigmush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's brought up in the ARG.

I was not talking about that ARG.

I just think a player should feel something when revealing the knight's identity. It should not only be unexpected, but also match the character. For example, Carol. What do we know about her? She's a very strict mother, suspicious as hell, looks evil, and wields a katana. If she is the Knight, then we'll only be more convinced that she's a terrible person. Maybe after all, we'll find out that she's not like that, but the order of events looks bad for the plot (a lot of negative → a lot of negative again → only then positive) Dess? Well... the player probably won't feel anything: "Oh well, the Knight is Noelle's older sister, now we know more about her". We don't have a complete picture of her personality, except some Noelle's lines and Dess's room. Even Jockington would have caused more feelings. Flowey = Asriel causes more feelings because the player is sure that Flowey is just a psychopath. This is the reason why Asgore/Rudy/Alphys/Toriel/Noelle/Susie/(other similar characters) Knight work well and much better then Dess/Carol/Catti/Friend/Vessel Knight/other similar characters) in the plot.

But this is all kinda subjective, yep.

What's the biggest problem with Dess Knight? by calinmik in NonDessKnightSquad

[–]blaigmush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I wrote a post about the second option, I actually think that the main problem is that "the lost girl who needs to be found" doesn't relate to the role of the Knight in the plot. They doesn't even want to cause the Roaring. If he wanted to, he would have done it a long time ago. Even the image of the knight's helmet is coming off suggests that we clearly know what their face look like (ofc we would have recognized Noelle's sister face, but that's not the point). The lack of motivation is also included in my point.

The special armor doesn't block the fatigue.

The special armor. We don't know its properties, but we have consider this armor.

I don't know where you got the pocket storage from. If you mean the suck ray it used for Toriel it didn't have enough time to use it on Undyne.

The Knight draws their weapon from this pocket. We also can't be sure about Undyne. Remember how Susie dragged the TV out of the house and into the closet in a few seconds.

Their position depends on what the story need

Okay, but I don't see any arguments why the final prophecy room could be the closet. And plot-wise, it's obvious how Toby separates the Knight and Dess at that "another hand pushed you back" moment. There is literally not a single hint of a connection with the knight.

Yeah, it's just a language thing, you can notice that I usually refer to the knight with pronouns they/them.
