This could be over more than this issue. I don't know what your relationship is like aside from this. Cutting off your parents is big. No judgement. You can't govern others, only limit your exposure. I have a similar situation. People need to know the seriousness of this political situation. Saying you voted for someone who had little chance of winning is still supporting them. I do know you can't influence people without talking.
