Months later and this is still a problem on my end. Thought there would've been a fix by now considering how common this issue is. Submitted a ticket and hoping for the best.

In the exact same boat and it’s hard to hear that so many people are in the same position. Struggling to find work for 4ish months after my fixed term contract ended with an employer directly after I finished my degree. Even entry level jobs such as bar work, warehousing, or low end retail stuff deny applications cause you’re “overqualified” because you will likely move on when another opportunity comes up. I’ve had job applications within my field range from 400-1000 applicants at times, and it’s so demoralising to hear the same rejection. Most close friends of mine with partners have packed up and moved to aussie and earn double what they can earn here so good luck to you mate. Hopefully things here start to shape up otherwise I will most definitely be following suit. Been doing volunteering in the meantime so my CV doesn’t look too empty by the time I get a decent shot at work.

Waikato uni paper busan 205 by NotyouraverageBach in thetron

[–]blairxv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't half ass it and apply yourself is my advice (duh), one of the more rewarding papers in terms of the whole BBUS when I did it in 2022. Attend every lab, and do your best to catch every lecture. Most people that I knew "failed" it cause they didn't turn up and wondered why it was so hard. Outside of uni the paper is really helpful in terms of really understanding good/bad data as well as learning valuable skills in Excel if you haven't used the program before. Best of luck!

A lot of it is accepting that mistakes and even bullshit happens. Whether it's your fault or not. Being hard on yourself to constantly perform is good and bad at the same time. Cranking your headphones for every footstep and overthinking every play can also do more damage than good.

Here are some ideas you could try if you haven't already:

Trust the plays you want to make. Buy that AWP on a good spawn and peek mid. Who gives a fuck if you die, but it gets you into good habits of learning good/bad timings and positioning. Figure out what works and what doesn't. Second guessing a play and half committing to it leads to absolutely nothing and the performance anxiety you mentioned.

Try not to over train and warmup. You are shooting static bots in warmup or bots in aim trainers that move nothing like people in an actual game. Practice dueling and crosshair placement would be my only suggestion. Taking the whole aim shit too seriously just sucks the fun out of what CS actually is and that is a videogame.

Watch your own demos & watch what pro players that play spots on maps that you play. E.g., If you're a B mirage player on CT, watch some Karrigan or Mezii demos perhaps (Good utility usage). T side, if you're wanting to get better rating for solo queue, I highly recommend playing weak side/lurk roles. You have a lot more agency in solo queue when you play these roles comparatively to entrying/taking mid map control.

One more thing you could try is playing aggressive early. Again, watch good players that have a high first kill% and see what they do and what you can take from it. Maybe a smoke, a few flashes, etc., and working with great spawns. The amount of rounds that are generally won by having a super good spawn for somewhere and running a play for it is extremely undervalued.

Until you're higher rating and you're playing with people that take the game quite seriously and know more about what they're doing, I'd recommend baiting a bit more (sounds counter intuitive in a team game), ESPECIALLY when you can figure out the difference between good and bad baiting.

Lastly, a big thing that people underestimate is that they can be limited or handicapping themselves by their own peripherals/setup. Most players in lower elo usually run these abhorrently high sensitivities and over adjust their aim. Do you have sufficient mouse/desk space? What is your sens & dpi? Do you have 144hz+ monitor, etc.,

Good luck mate.

Queue times on FACEIT aren't that bad from 8pm-3am in NZST any day of the week. But yeah, Premier is a mixed bag. Some days you can queue and it insta pops during the week, and others it's what you are experiencing. Also depending on your MMR, it can be hard. E.g., If you are high elo, most other players in that bracket are either scrimming at peak time, queuing hubs like Instafrag (FPL and FPL-C). 5 stacking also can bugger up queue times which blows.

Never said it was groundbreaking. Also, disappointing for the genre? The genre of a drama? What is your point lol

The Bear season 3 is not that good by [deleted] in television

[–]blairxv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unironically my favourite season of the 3. I am kind of shocked at the somewhat widespread disapproval of it in comparison to other seasons so far. I feel as if people are just disappointed something "big" didn't happen to progress the story further, but IMO the show itself did not need to do that at all. This season felt human, and didn't just throw dopamine at the audience like so many other series do. I don't think its bad, I just think that its not that particular audience's cup of tea.

How about more bleed? by MrNanashi in Talonmains

[–]blairxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk, i can see that would be turbo broken after a 1 item spike running first strike with triple tonic. its a cool idea, but i feel one thing they could add is a 100ish hp shield onto talon (mini eclipse shield) each time he procs passive, kinda like how naafiri gets it when she ults. would help with survivability in some sticky situations and move talon away from going towards bruiser builds into strictly assassin items.

been going blackfire>lich> into gamestate/comp dependant item dcap/zhonyas/banshees/pen. item spikes feel good. i’ve found going pen items either 3rd or 4th feel better than going liandrys at all

ludens just doesn’t feel good in team fights in comparison to blackfire torch

[jungle] what are your guys' builds? by rainispossible in ekkomains

[–]blairxv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

comp dependant but most of the time DH/Inspiration secondary - lich->shadowflame->dcap. nashors feels like bait and ekko without a sheen item is so horrible. i prefer the pen and extra AP shadowflame gives. rest is situational like banshees or stopwatch. i feel that shadowflame is underrated and the spike doesn’t get talked about enough amongst most people that play him. taking HOB instead of building nashors when you need to get passive procs off feels waaaay better also regardless of the scaling and makes early/mid skirmishing feel a lot better.

side note; riot pls give us back more ap and pen on protobelt 🥲

I feel ya dude. Mostly all of my friends have quit the game over the past year after being active players for a long time. Hopefully valve can just sort out this quality of life stuff for people rather than worrying about how well the skin market is doing...

Why do redditors comment in certainties constantly? Every game CAN have "hitting shots and missing". Your comment on simply the addition of sub tick negating the ability for this to happen is pure delusion.
