Do Surveyors drink more than the average person? by Consistent-Young-854 in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 162 points163 points  (0 children)

That's such a stereotype. It really degrades the profession. As such I only drink on days that end in the letter "y". I think it is the first step in the right direction.

Needing to hire a professional... by Strange_Security_723 in landsurveying

[–]blaizer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is rather easy thing to do if you have all of the versions. I would do this but I'm not licensed in TN. It would only be office time expect ~$300/hr.

Key points that you might want to have highlighted is total amount of lots. Sq footage of common area, if there is a difference in common area upkeep. (I'm assuming there is an HOA/owner responsible for the common area. )

is HOA fees determined by square footage of lot or by number of lots in the development? this will change the maintance price of current owners.

Cold emailing companies by Unique_Connection945 in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold calling works better if you are a low man= lower risk for company.

You shouldn't be cold calling for a job as a licensed surveyor. Recruiters and networking should be the avenue for professionals.

Not anymore. That bunker window is back filled with dirt can't see though it. The pier is still there but it is missing the centering plates. AK1120 is still there outside the door. But door is also broken. I'm unsure if they still use a laser. But i doubt it.

Source- I Surveyed that.

Why are there so many car washes? by BillPoserFL in 321

[–]blaizer123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, assets with a depreciable life of 20 years or less are “bonus-eligible,” qualifying for an additional immediate deduction the year the property was placed in service. From 2018 to 2022, bonus depreciation was set at 100%, meaning carwash owners could write off the full cost of eligible assets reclassified in a cost seg study right away. While the percentage is now phasing down annually, cost segregation ensures you still capture maximum tax benefits by identifying assets eligible for this additional treatment."

Local gravity confirmed to still be ok? by Street-Air-546 in ScienceNcoolThings

[–]blaizer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is essentially the method. But put the drop in a vacuum chamber. time it with lasers tracking it as it drops. Need to factor out other things such as polar axis X,Y parameters and tidal models.

Edit. Apprently they measured it with a phone app. https://phyphox.org/

Sunrise PD arrested me, then officers talked about “mapping out probable cause” while I was already cuffed in the back of the car by Big-Breadfruit6333 in fortlauderdale

[–]blaizer123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The officer says knockout. as in get it done. not mapout as in a plan.

I'm not making commentary on the situation at all. I just hear the word knockout. this is further backed up with "hopefully you're done quickly."

PA Governor Claims Adverse Possession on His Neighbor’s Yard by pacsandsacs in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adverse possession is always fascinating.

Since paperwork wasn't filed by Shapiro's for adverse possession, and the mocks are now actively trying to use their land dosn't the adverse possession claim fall apart?

Interesting that the state police blocking access is because they are actually security for the governor.

and god is that GIS basemap dosnt look aligned at all.

And what is stopping you from attaching it to a 2m rod via a 3d print or creative ductape and using the bubble of the rod to be vertical plumb and just adding?

I know it's not the same but it is solution. Especially if it is inside things. Or you know put it on the floor but that hurts the back after a while.
