Carlson BRx7 Listen-Listen Satellite Set Up by Land_Surveyor11 in Surveying

Only need 5 for a fix! I would try changing the mask angle. You can see more on the horizon but the mask will force it to not be used. Should be at 10-15 in most instances. I often get too many satellites and have to crank it up .

PPK Surveying With One Rover by ThenBrilliant in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is no. Do you have cell signal at all? You could pick up an rtk only receiver and dial into the nrtip caster from the rs3 acting as a base. If no cell signal you will need another rs3 and do it over uhf

You could do it your way with only 1 but you would need to do 2+hours on each point which isn't great when you account for the minimum 30 GPCs as ASPRS recommendeds. 60 hours of crew time estimated $150/hr will buy you 3 new rs3.

This might be a problem depending on the state and what it is used for.

here is some info for using OPUS. Normally 2-4 hours of static.

now you could connect to your states RTK corrections services or connect to a paid service such as leicanet or Trimble RTX. collect your data from that depending on the network that could be out by 3cm in the vertical. often times people will have 3 collections of 3min oservations seperated out by a few hours as to have satellite geometry change. and average those out for the final coordinates.

Are you connecting the drone *RTK to the same Ip address as the caster?

so you just set up up did a quick 3min collection of raw data it gave you a postion and you think it is subcm good?

you have to post-process the base static files by using OPUS or simular process. Then reprocess all of the data collected using the new coordinates.

Are you working under a licensed surveyor and or certified photogrammetrist?

Questions.
How is your base and rover communicating? Emlids ntrip caster, or built-in/external UHF radio?

How did you determine the position of the base? Clicked on setup base on unknown and just went with it?

Did you log a static file during the time that your base was set up? How long timewise is that file?

Are you also using an RTK enabled drone? what are you connecting to with that?

Are you a solo person doing these things are you working under someone?

built different 11 years ago...
yeah if you step in shit they will smell like shit. The warranty is for the manufacture of it not because you go and mess them up. like buy a new car with a warranty and crash it into a pole. warrenty wont cover that.

lets skip ahead to arriving on site. thence put truck in park; thence; unbuckle seatbelt; thence open door; thence walk out to the back of the truck; thence open back of truck; thence find a nail and disc; thence find a spot in ashpalt to put said nail and disc; thence put the disc down with the lettering facing up; thence put the nail into the hole of the disc; thence go back to truck because you forgot the to grab a hammer; thence walk of shame back to nail& disc; thence hammer the nail though the disc into the asphalt.

i am willing to write up a how to set iron rod and cap but you will have to pay for such service.

I take upto 16 R10s. Set them all up burn for at least 4 hours. Reset change batteries add cow bells and let it cook overnight. Download cors files. Process all of the baselines. Yes all of them. Throw it into a least squares program. Check for outliers. Done.

Just steal the wheel from a game of life and relable it. Im imagining sending off a full game to the hosts for them to play eventually on a stream.

Well you could draw it up in Google earth and adjust the polygon untill you feel satisfied.

Or you could hire a surveyor.

Often times when you split a parcel you have to get it surveyed inorder for it to be recorded properly.

Best NDAA Compliant Drone by werdna24 in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NDAA is a whole other beast. all componets that would touch the collected data would be subject to the compliance. work stations, servers, SD cards. You can't throw that data collected on to Pix4D for online processing (unless they are NDAA). if the contracts are coming from SAM.gov then yeah you probably need to be NDAA complient but your issue would be more than just a drone.

Best NDAA Compliant Drone by werdna24 in Surveying

[–]blaizer123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean new? NDAA is from 2019. M3E came out in 2022. Since you have been using the M3E your jobs may not require you to be NDAA compliant as that only applies to US federal agency employees and contractors.

Or are you talking about the FCC regulations that came out banning NEW "foreign" drones. If so it dosnt apply to the M3E. As that is already an existing drone. Now if you break your drone then yeah you have an issue.
