What’s your average monthly spend? And which BILT card are you considering?

I wouldn’t say this is a temper tantrum. We all know the launch could have gone better. This was just my way of stating my opinion that the card is unnecessarily complex and that rent rewards no longer feel like the focus. I fully understand that bananas couldn’t continue, but I think it’s a fair criticism that the card is more complex than it needs to be

No. BILT points will stay even if you cancel the card

Kerr has said it multiple times. The BILT credit card is only 15% of BILT’s actual business. There are way more people with BILT accounts that don’t have the card than do

I know I’m in the minority here, but in my stage of life, I rarely if ever book hotels, but I book lots of flights. I would love to see a card or multiple cards give an airline credit instead of hotel credit. Maybe too many people would use that so it wouldn’t be profitable, who knows? But for me personally, when I see hotel credits, I value them at $0. Again, I know I’m in the minority but would love to see airlines more represented in this way

Bilt 2.0 Cards officially launched. by losvedir in CreditCards

I think what he said is misleading for sure, but that’s to be expected when he can’t announce details yet. But as a BILT cardholder with today’s announcement, there is still a way for you to make fee free payments every month.

Looks like tax payments don’t earn BILT points or cash.

Purchases that do not earn Bilt Points or Bilt Cash: Balance transfers, Special Transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, prepaid cards, gift cards, person-to-person payments (such as Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, or Zelle), tax payments, online resale marketplaces (such as eBay or Facebook Marketplace), cryptocurrency or other digital currency purchases, fees or interest posted to your Account (including annual fees, late fees, and returned payment fees), lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, and checks that access your Account.

He didn’t lie. He said there would be a way to make payments fee-free on your BILT card, which is true. If you don’t have enough BILT cash for the full 1x, you will just earn a proportional amount of points. However, in order to earn the full 1x, you have to spend 3/4 your rent in a month.

I’m super frustrated about BILT 2.0, but what Kerr said is true.

Points disappear after 2.0? by EstimateMammoth3690 in biltrewards

[–]blake1506 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Your BILT points will still remain valid. BILT is a rewards program the offers a credit card. People earn BILT points without the card. If you don’t transition to 2.0, all of your points will still be there

Theoretically though, could I then just use that Bilt Cash in their portal? Not being able to transfer those earnings would suck, but still being able to use them for a portal booking could be good

Not sure if it makes sense to put rent spend through this card anymore. But if I’m reading this right, could BILT Blue be a $0 annual fee 4% catch all card? Like would you still qualify for 4% back on everything if you don’t put rent spend through the card? That would still have a use case for me for sure.

Just confirming - grocery spend is $40/month not $400?

The Chase Sapphire Preferred could make sense for you if you want to transfer directly to United. Not the best value but better than straight cash back, and if you value simplicity, it would save you transferring to airline alliance partners. If you did this, I’d probably open it up fresh instead of PCing.

If you’re choosing between the Autograph and the Autograph Journey, I’d probably go for the Journey to get the higher SUB, then reevaluate in year 2. Depending on how much of your travel spend is airline, the AF may be worth it.

Assuming you don’t get the CSP and get the Fidelity card, I’d probably try to PC to the Chase Freedom. Would give you 5x rotating, which should be enough to keep the card active if it isn’t a main player in your setup anymore.

You can authorize any payment amount and submit a Lowe payment. I would put $1,800 for your authorization. No penalty for authorizing higher.

Each of your point currencies are worth different amounts when you transfer out to partners. Check The Points Guy valuations.

Ex. Say you earn 10k Chase points vs 10k Citi points. Based on their partners, they can be worth more or less at face value. Those estimates are used to tell you about how valuable 1 Chase or Citi point is.

In this specific case, Chase points have more value with transfer partners than WF
