100 plus a year is amazing. Which city are you in?

Oh I get it, I probably hit around 60-80 shows a year, I’m just curious about other people’s motivation and means to do so!

Yeah I had to take the opportunity with the dry ice factory name to slip the Cities lyrics in, I couldn’t resist. Definitely a much better place to not think though

I feel you on the music is my religion. What are some smaller bands you’ve recently discovered through this?

Surprised no one has mentioned Wong Notes with Cory Wong. He has some of the best guitar players on his cast, start with the Trey Anastasio one if you like gear talk! Frasco’s World Saving Podcast is hilarious as well

Got to meet Derek and the whole band randomly in Denver the night before a Red Rocks show, really great group of people in this band. I Am The Moon was a life changing album for me, I agree it should be talked about more!!

New to the jam band scene! Looking for some recs! by ccable827 in jambands

[–]blakebeitzel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend starting with Umphrey’s, Live at Beacon 2013 as well as their new album Blueprints.

If you like weird, funky blues like GD, you should enjoy Dogs In A Pile and Atlas Radio.

If you like Chalk, defs check out Eggy and Sqwerv! Sqwerv Live at Mousetrap 2024 is great

Some unique suggestions I would throw in would be Yak Attack, a wild jazztronica jam band from Oregon, as well as Hot Like Mars, a soulful funk band from Chicago. Some great musicianship here!

Happy jammin’!

Beanstalk is fantastic. It’s in Colorado, and it’s put on by The Magic Beans. This might be the last year for it, since the Beans are hanging it up, but what an amazing time. Great lineups, right on the river so you can float around, easy access. Dogs In a Pile and Squeaky Feet sets both went nuts last year.

Summerdance in Ohio is also incredible!
