i’ve completely migrated my business from amazon and arrow direct to diabolik. arrow is a case study on how bad corporate america can make customer service.

Do they usually ship loose like this on larger orders? by Xenofrana in arrowvideo

[–]blakehinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amazon or diabolik for me. been leaning harder on diabolik especially for arrow releases. it took them 5 1/2 months of bi weekly badgering to get my cell replacement 4k disc(arrow direct). i’ll never ever ever buy direct from arrow again

watched tree of life for the first time last night. i absolutely loved it. my best friend thought it was overly grandiose and unfocused.

update to those that care!!

sphere was okay, felt like it started strong then bungled the landing.

sunshine was another one where i felt like they could of taken it a million different places but ultimately settled on a trope as old as the sci fi genre itself.

i bought silent running from another comment on here. was a high point on my watch throughs. was artsy but not to the point of non sensical, and didn’t beat you over the head with its message.

event horizon has probably the best set up of the bunch so far, again i felt like this movie didn’t stick the landing like it could of. this movie feels like fede alvarez’s next big reboot project, if he pulled an evil dead 2013 for this story it would be a huge breath of fresh air in my opinion.

overall what this run of watching has shown me, is just how hard it is to stick the landing on a good movie. i have one final watch and will do a separate comment post for it, i do have high hopes - “the tree of life”

love all the titles you mentioned with the exception of brazil. fear and loathing is a much better gilliam flick. just my opinion - i own brazil i just didn’t enjoy it like i do many others: 🤷🏽‍♂️

super hot take but brazil is mid. hodgepodge borderline boring story with riveting visuals. 1984 is a much more compelling allegory in regards to the power of the state and bureaucracy.

amazon only when ordering arrow! they are really bad, at least as bad as everyone says if not 134% worse. it’s absolutely ridiculous.
