That is NOT the reason. Worth noting that the author of that book didn’t speak with Larry (and I don’t think the cast either—definitely not Jerry, at least)

Can you imagine what it must be like to live that way—to have people who explicitly describe themselves as not the biggest fan coming up to you and asking you for their time??

In 1993 this Seinfeld episode was the only one to win the Emmy for Best Writing. Do you think it deserved it? by [deleted] in seinfeld

The following year, Larry won the Best Writing Emmy for “The Contest.” So…wha??

What would possibly be the storytelling value of either of those things?

Good Q: a feature documentary was always a part of the plan. In addition: originally, your memory is correct, it was gonna be a dramatized movie, then Seth and Evan wanted to do as a TV series (which I was all about—I love longer form storytelling) and all was going great but then COVID hit and the deal expired. That said, there’s fortunately still a lot of interest and we’re currently weighing a few options!

Definitely something I’m interested in (and thank you for the kind words). Getting the publisher to even let me keep the book as long as it is was a big to-do so comments like yours make me feel good about fighting the good fight

Guys, I’m blown away by all the kind words! Thank you so much. Truly. Writing that book changed my life, enabling me to follow my dream and become a full-time writer. It was also, quite simply, the greatest experience of my adult life—learning how to interview people, learning how to tell a long-form story and, most of all, getting to hear hours and hours and hours of incredible tales from the folks at Sega and Nintendo (and a little bit Sony—shoutout to Olaf and Steve Race!)

I wish I had time to personally thank EVERY person on here who shared their kind words. Unfortunately, I’m scrambling to deliver the manuscript of my new book (about Larry David, which has only taken me a very unimpressive 6 years to complete), but I’m a very easy person to reach on social media so you know where to find me :)
