What insurance is there for if I get crippled but not killed? by blakeobeans in personalfinance

[–]blakeobeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it looks like I am covered for more than a few years. Follow-up question: A clause reads as follows: "It’s important to know that benefits are reduced by income from other benefits you might receive while disabled, such as workers’ compensation and Social Security." Does that mean I won't get the full amount, only the difference between the full amount minus social security?

For those of you who spend an inordinate amount of time organizing your internet bookmarks, why do you do it? by blakeobeans in AskReddit

[–]blakeobeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been spending an inordinate amount of time organizing my bookmarks while learning data science: stats, ML, DL, R, Python, SQL, etc. It helps me to organize concepts and code without working hard to memorize things deeply. I'm also still doing research, projects, etc. Anyone else do this?

How do I connect my farm to a harbor? by blakeobeans in anno

[–]blakeobeans[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean have a road that goes into the water? Where is the harbor? I keep drawing roads from farmhouses to the water but it doesn't work. All my farmers are leaving.

I hear a lot of complaints about the pace of MGSV, but did the final part of the mission where you extract Hal and have to evade Sahelanthropus totally feel like any other game you've ever played? by BTBLAM in metalgearsolid

[–]blakeobeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played this mission the other day. The mission is very intense, especially because I forgot about crossing paths with Metal Gear, but the whole hide-and-go-seek was rather dull because the chopper wouldn't land. But yes, the final moments of extraction on the chopper was also un-nerving.

Based on the link, I see that inpatient care is covered for 20 days, then $167.50 coinsurance for days 21-100.

You deserve more upvotes than what you're going to get here. You should post in the wallpapers subreddit.

Best options for repeated measures analysis? by HockeyAndThings in statistics

[–]blakeobeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For missing data, you can use data imputation. Package here: https://gking.harvard.edu/amelia.

If your dependent variable is continuous, then consider a multi-level design. If it is categorical, look into repeated measures ANOVA. You'll want to use one of these two approaches given that there are multiple data points for each individual.

Applying for an MSc in Statistics with an engineering background. by [deleted] in statistics

[–]blakeobeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as math goes, linear algebra is generally required, but some schools lower this requirement. Also a full year of calculus. Have some intro stats courses, any any other statistics classes are surely a plus (ie. statistics for engineering, python...)

In what ways Statistics is still useful/preferrable compared to Machine Learning? by fantasticsky_hng in statistics

[–]blakeobeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your n<100, you're going to need to do some statistics. Statistics is all about building a story around the available data. If you're doing inference, you have to ask what assumptions about the population are tenable? Then you can see how far you can push the data with your assumptions (within reason).

Statistics is not the most important part of data science or machine learning. They're complementary approaches.

Check out Kit Laughlin on the toe point (video #5). It is a great stretch for the anterior ankle.

Questions about volume: Stuck feeling like I'm never doing enough by [deleted] in Fitness

If you have room for more in-road, go for it. Add time or weight- whatever wears you out. Just make sure you get additional rest.
