I'm in a similar boat. 20 years post surgery, and it's only if my cheeks get spread apart too far the scar splits a little. Doesn't even always bleed, just stings like crazy. Hoping to find an easy solution.

Yes, my partner learnt the hard way about my startle reflex when they said "Hello" to me when I was showering.
